I purchased my 09 TL with tech package back in February of this year, the car has been perfect and I love it. Just the other day the navigation just shut off on me and wouldnt come back on. I would turn the car off and on again, wait for the disclaimer to pop up, press ok, then it will stay on for like 5 seconds then turn itself off again. I dont know whats happening with it, my car is completely stock and has never had any mods done to it what so ever. Any help on what I can try and fix this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I dont want to take it to the dealership because they are going to charge me an arm and a leg. Im hoping someone had this issue before and can help me figure this out. Thanks again.

 

You are going to need a dealer to look at it. Foe example, they replaced the climate control unit because voice control wasn't working on my 2009 Acura TL.

 

did you accidentally press the button at the lower left corner? that's where you can turn the display on or off.

 

echodigital.....yeah thats what im afraid of, it works and comes on but then shuts off after 5 seconds so was hoping it might be a connection issue.

@mightl...no it does it everytime i start the car, the disclaimer will come on, ill push ok, then after like 5 seconds of it being on the display turns off

 

I experienced spontaneous failure of the NAVI system starting shortly after I bought the car. I posted an earlier thread on this starting on 1/02/2013, and you could take a look at it.

Today, I got the car back from the dealer with what they hope is the final attempt to fix the problem. Symptoms were that the car would start normally, but the screen would go dark within about 5 seconds. No control inputs could get the NAVI to light up again. Radio & SiriusXM would work, but other audio functions would not. Backup camera was dark.

First major repair attempted was to replace the HDD. This seemed to cure the problem for a few weeks, but then, it came back again...same symptoms, same warning message (see photo from earlier thread).

Second major repair was performed yesterday when the entire radio system (DVD drive, head, etc.) was replaced. Of course, it seems to be working fine now.

The guys at my Acura dealership have bent over backward trying to be helpful and worked hard to get this fixed. Of course they had to get authorization from Acura about what to do to fix it...as noted, first trying the HDD replacement, and then the entire entertainment system. Today's repair had a price tag of $580 on it, but of course, I didn't pay anything.

I am hoping it will work as I really enjoy driving the car. Please PM me if you want more details.
