NavTraffic Icon

I have a quick question. While I did a search, I did not find an answer. If this question has been asked before, I'm sorry to ask it again. Regarding the NavTraffic icon that appears just below the Nav icon in the upper left of the navigation screen. I've never seen this icon appear in the three weeks I've owned my 11 TL. "Traffic" information does appear when I go into the info screen. Also, on the set up screen I can confirm that I'm receiving the XM radio, Weather, and Traffic signals. In reading the owners manual, I get the impression the icon should appear, even if there is not a signal to receive. When there is not a signal, does the icon appear? Thanks in advance for any help.

I read that section of the owners manual again. When I read the information the first time, I thought the icon appeared (with no color) when a signal was not being received. Now I discover that when a signal is not being received, no icon appears. Thus, that answers my question. Sorry to have posted something I should have researched in the first place.
