Navigation Start Up Screen Removal
I tried searching for a thread about this already, and revealed a 3G fix but nothing on the 4G. However, I believe our 4G are HDD based and not DVD based right? So is there a way to remove the retarded screen at the beginning where I have to hit OK every damn time?
Sorry if I just missed the info somewhere.

I'm hoping there's a way as well. Every other vehicle I've owned with oem Nav has had a work-around (VW Touareg, Cadillacs, etc).
I'm hoping someone is working on a hack or a software interface to modify the onboard software.

I've never been bothered enough by it that I'd consider hacking into the hard drive.
Things like this might have unintended consequences, too. They might want so much for you to see that screen that the system will not go past it if a subsequent routine doesn't notice that you have confirmed the screen.
It does seem like a bit of overkill, for whatever one man's opinion is worth. I'd think that a red page in the NAV manual would do as much good. :-)
But what do I know.

Maybe when they finally release a maps update we can take a look at the contents of the update DVD. It would be nice to not have to hit OK, but pretty sure the system is loading in the background. So even if you hid the screen, it wouldn't be ready to use any earlier.

I used a VAG COM cable to disable the acceptance screen on the nav of my VW Touareg and it went right to the map. If there's a software workaround to eliminating the acceptance screen, im guessing it would just load to the map.

With the correct hardware and software interface, a lot can be accomplished with the car's core software. On my Touareg, I eliminated the nav acceptance screen, I altered the blinkers, eliminated the seat belt chime and modified the air adjustable suspension. All with no unwanted complications. I could also do A LOT more with engine performance, transmission adjustments, air fuel ratios, etc, etc, etc. The options were far ranging. I havent been able to find a comparable interface to the Ross Tech VAG COM for the Honda/Acura onboard computer though.
