Navigation problem

for some weird reason my navigation doesn't switch between night and day time when it's on the automatic setting... anyone have a similar problem?

I cant remember if it is in the settings for the nav or you just have the brightness control for the nave display turned up to high (on the switch on the bottom left of the center stack)
