nav screen brightness...

nav screen brightness...

i wish there were a way to make it dimmer for night time use....i have it adjusted all the way dim, and its still too damn bright...is there a work around for this at all...

Not sure if you've also tried to adjust the contrast & black level, as that might help your situation.

Here's the details from the Navigation manual, page 92:


You can also set different levels for day time and night time and quickly switch using the "display mode" button. Pages 114-115 have good info on the brightness settings and how they work as well.

Most of these settings can also be controlled by voice command, such as "brightness up/down", "brightness min/max".

worked best when i turned up the black level and turned down the contrast...

Yep me too.. but this is my first OEM navi so i wonder if its normal.

my 07 nav brightness had its own settings too, but also seemed to go up and down with dash lights so it didnt seem to stick out soo much being over bright...its cool now, like i said, i ended up on one bar for the contrast, and one short of wide open on the black level for the night setting...looks good now

Mine switches to a black background when my headlights are on. No problem with the light being too bright.

Go to the "other" tab under settings to access the menue that controls this. You can have separate settings for day and night.

yea, we all know this dude...its too bright with it on its dimmest setting without adjusting the contrast and black settings....
