iPod Interface Details or Pix?

Why is it so tough to get precise information from manufacturers about the specifics of how their factory audio systems interact with iPods and other MP3 players? As I car shop for a 2009/2010 vehicle, I see many claims about iPod compatibility but few specifics. Options range from pretty full integration, to changer integration similar to USA-SPEC, to a simple AUX jack.

I ran a search without success, but have others posted here any screen shots detailing how well the '09 TL handles an iPod?

Thanks in advance.

The 2009 TL comes with an Ipod connector that charges and allows you to access the music on the Ipod. It will not give you a list of artists or albums. You can use your playlists.

The owners manual and nav manual will tell you all you need to know. They are linked in this thread.

????
2009 TL with tech package comes with full iPod integration. There is a dedicated USB port for an iPod or a flash drive with MP3s on it. As for the iPod you can search by playlist, artist, album, song.
The dial on the center has a scroll wheel, but it doesn't have the scroll wheel accerelation. Other niceties, the display shows artist, song, album and play time. You are able to skip tracks with steering wheel controls and you can scan through songs with the radio controls.

There is also an AUX port if you just want to control the iPod by yourself.

Yes, reading what I typed its clear that what I was thinking and what wound up on the screen are two different things.
