iPhone 3.0 update rocks!

New stereo bluetooth works in the TL now, AND the sound of cell phone calls has improved significantly.

Very happy puppy (especially with the plethora of other goodies like GREAT implementation of cut/copy/paste, spotlight searches, CALDAV calendar support...finally!, landscape keyboard, background notification...etc).

Now just have to wait for my 3Gs coming tomorrow

The final build has been running great, I've been playing with it for the past 10 days or so and the bt audio is greatly improved over the betas, I'm still working on getting teathering to work with the Acura link though, pain in the ass

Yes the official release was a different build then the beta. I haven't played around with this but it's worth a try if you're into tinkering.

you goto the bluetooth audio on the TL (hit HDD button til it shows up) and then goto the ipod app on the phone, and set the output to the handsfreelink (theres a button at the bottom right of the ipod app) and bam, it plays the songs wireless from the iPhone

Even easier if your iPhone is already linked with Bluetooth. Just hit the HDD button until you see Bluetooth audio and it automatically starts playing!! No additional set up required.

I am using the USB cable and having tons of issues since the 3.0 update. The Bluetooth probably works but haven't messed with it yet.

Sorry to hear about the update screwing up the USB function. There's another thread about this.

I have a dedicated iPod for the USB port. The bluetooth while very cool, doesn't allow you to search playlists or see what's playing. It's probably worth it to get a used iPod cheap and just leave it in the car.

Oh and for those who haven't gotten it yet, the 3Gs screams. Much faster then my 3G.

Faster in what way? Moving around the OS? Downloading apps? Using Safari? Uploading from computer?

All of the above.

1. Overall OS response is faster. You don't get any delay with finger taps. No stuttering or pausing with the keyboard
2. Launching applications is ridiculous. I didn't think I used to wait for Safari or Mail, but I've been struck about how quickly these things are loaded after tapping their icons
3. Safari is MUCH faster. Close in rendering speed to a slow laptop. Much better then the 3G with wifi, but also faster with 3G signal
4. Syncing with computer is also faster (this could be due to 3.0 update though)
5. I actually make it through the entire day and evening with one battery charge.

Nice I might upgrade to the 32GB, as I'm hd hungry! I've had a few issues since the 3.0 upgrade? The USB connection is not 100%, sometimes it says bad USB connection? Still no tethering but I think that's still AT&T right? I still don't mess with Bluetooth audio, might check it out later.

You need to give the 3.0 and the Acura OS a chance to sync. Plug it in and walk away if you have to, but they will hook up. You'll be happy they did.

Mess with the Bluetooth. Mess with it as soon as you can. Just go ahead and queue up your favorite tune.

I upgraded from a 1G iPhone 8g to the 3GS 32g. With Bluetooth, I push the iPhone button and say "Play songs by ....", the 3GS says "Play songs by ..." and then you Get. It.

Right now I'm listening to David Cook doing Permanent from American Idol through the TL and seeing the video on the 3GS. Doesn't get much better than that.

I checked the range tonight, not bad! I was six away from the car and it was still transmitting. The quality is definitely improved, no question. There's still that Bluetooth delay, but at least we have another connection. I was watching Wall•E via Bluetooth and put the iPhone in the display area, kinda cool! Check it.

Delay is minimal, <1 second (which is enough to annoy people when watching videos) ...bmode im having the same issue with connectivity, plugged in last night and got "unplayable file" had to unplug/replug and then it worked fine....my 3Gs is on the delivery truck to my local ATT store so I'll be picking that up later this afternoon and post back later with my findings with my TL...

on a side note, with the new 3GS "Apple is using the same BCM4325 combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip from Broadcom used in the second-generation iPod touch, over the iPhone 3G, which had used two separate chips, a Wi-Fi chip from Marvell and a Bluetooth chip from CSR."...so the BT connection will hopefully be noticibly different (better?!) with the 3GS
