Has anyone else had their "weather" feature randomly work every so-often? I do not pay a subscription and there seems to be a few weeks on/off cycle but sometimes weather shows up on the Navi and I can click in to see radar etc. Other times, no weather shows up and when I try to click in to see more, it says set up is not complete.

When I first bought the car, it worked for about a month and stopped. I figured that the PO had simply forgotten to cancel the subscription, but it now just sometimes works.

I've thought that maybe it sometimes uses my phone's data connection through bluetooth (?) but the settings on the phone never change nor have I changed any settings on the car.

Is it just me?

Happens to me every once in a while. Sometimes if I am real lucky, I get the traffic too. Can't find a consistent reason why. I will occasionally select the weather and traffic and see if it is a lucky day or not.

Sirius/XM turns this on for all users from time to time. They did this over Thanksgivings weekend.

from time to time as RenoTl mentioned Sirius/XM service has a trial window that allows us access to some feature for us to experience and renew if we decide. So when you check if the xm satillite radio is working, chances are the weather feature will be working as well. I'm not that lucky though to receive traffic.

Very interesting, guys. I never would have connected the sat radio to weather data, etc. but I suppose it makes sense. I'm going to test the sat radio next time the weather is working.
