interior and exterior light modding

I am looking to do some interior/exterior light modding on both of our cars and I was wondering where people buy LED lights these days? is VLEDS.com still the best place to get the lights or are there better places?

I am interested to do the following updates:

2014 TL:

Fog lights - H11
Door lights (front) - 158
Trunk - DE3022

2013 TSX:

Fog lights - H11
Door lights (front and rear) - 194
Trunk - 168
Interior dome (2 front, 1 rear) - DE3175

Looking at the cross reference part list on the vleds.com, it appears that 194 / 168 / 158 are the same exact lights/part number? Is that correct? The same goes for DE3175 and DE3022? Is that also correct? Not counting fog lights, it looks like I am only looking at two different part numbers to cover doors, trunk and interior on both cars?

Also, most of the 194/168/158 bulbs come in 3 different types: 360, flank or forward.Which setup is recommend for our cars?

I appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

Hello Mlody,

To answer your questions, I still personally have Vleds installed in both my wife's 16 RDX (5k white) and in my 14 TL (6k blue/white). I purchase through them for a few reasons:

1. High Qualiry Products
2. Excellent customer service
3. Local to me (Washington State)

Yes, they are on the pricier side but to me worth every penny. On their site, you can enter in the year, make and model and choose which specific lights you want. (Just a heads up for the TL, you'll have to enter 2013).

194/168/158 are all the same. I haven't replaced the trunk with led but I'm sure it's the same. When it comes to the bulb style, to me it depends on the angle the light needs to spread. Most of the interior lights I used 360 to light up the entire ground. I used flank on my wife's tailgate to light straight down rather than putting light back into the inside of the housing. Forward facing is good for straight forward rather than the sides.

I recommend going with the 360 for your needs. Also for best output go with the HO (high output) bulbs.

For your fog lights I recommend 2 options:

1. Either go for the Morimoto XB Type S Stand-alone LEDs which a lot of us have
2. HIDs which will give you great output but will be scattered light unlike the XB (sharper).

While your at it, you should look into upgrading your reverse lights and license plate lights. They help with brightening up your rear camera display while giving you a nice clean look.

Hope this helps and good luck with your lighting upgrades.
