Galaxy S3 Contact Import
I cannot believe that I have this great phone and I have no contact list availability! The phone paired up right away and everything else looks good but if I go to place a call the phone automatically goes to import contacts which will then fail.
The HandsFreeLink site says that the S3 (on Verizon since they have not updated that T-Mobile also has this phone) is compatible but Contact Import is not available on this vehicle. Say what!?
I had a G2x that it says the same thing about but it worked just fine. Always imported my contacts everytime I wanted to make a call. So what's the real scoop. Anyone able to get their contacts loaded from their Galaxy S3? Last thing I want to do is sit in my car for hours manually entering every number I might want to call and then even if I do it looks like the only place to enter numbers is in speed dial.
Help! I'm going to go crazy after all the money spent on this so called high technology car and phone that don't seem to like to play together.
BTW - I have a 2012 TL Advanced

OP, it seems that the 4G TL's bluetooth is picky and phone dependent. I used to have a Samsung Galaxy Epic, it would have trouble pairing, and require frequent re-pairing to point I almost gave up syncing the phone sometimes. Drove me nuts, and I never bothered to import my contacts.
Now I have a HTC Evo 3D. Paired once, and has stayed paired ever since. Haven't tried to import contacts yet.

Well I thought I had a fix. I just noticed that my phone was now asking me to confirm allowing the HFL to connect to my contacts. After saying OK still no results but then I decided to delete the phone and try pairing again and this time it asked right away if it was OK to connect to my contacts. This time my contacts downloaded and everything was there. Great! Except that over the next day and a half when I went to make a call it was a hit or miss if the HFL would display my contacts or just return an empty screen.
I have an appointment with Acura to fix my headrest and update the HFL on Monday. Fingers crossed that this will take and I'll have access to my contacts on a regular basis.

I took it in and the dealer tells me that there is no TSB for my car. Even after telling them that it exists they said I was not well informed and that they put my VIN into their computer and that always tells them if there are any issues that require updates or fixes. I'll see how it works over the next couple of days.
Well, it looks like the S3 is finicky with the TL system. So far soon after I took it to the dealer although they fixed nothing my S3 seems to be staying paired and my contacts show up every time. And yes, the TL shows the recent calls as this is also imported everytime you look for this. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that nothing changes.
I've got the GS2 and '09 TL Tech. (bought the car this past Tuesday)
I deleted the previous owner's phone book, paired my GS2, then downloaded my phone book...took 40 minutes, then got a message that not all contacts were downloaded as space was maxed out. I had 1,200 contacts.
Spent 2 hours cleaning up my contacts and took 1,200 down to 775 and repeated the process and got the same message, but ut seems most are there now.
When I initiate the contact download, a blue tooth message appears in the status bar of the phone. I have to allow permission on the phone for it to work...did you give it permission?
To add to this post...If I add new contacts, or delete others, does the car sync with the phone, or will I have to delete and re-download?

As mentioned before:
-Once the Contact-Download starts, the phone asks for permission to upload it to the car!
Check your phone and approve, then it will start!
-If your phone disconnects after a while, change the Bluetooth-Key to FIXED ( there is an option in the Phone Menu of the TL (Tech).
