First a little background. My wife doesn't really care that much about cars, but because I love buying cars she has had quite a few nice vehicles of the past 20 years. This past year she told me she wanted to get away from SUV's, which she has driven for about 10 years and has liked driving them because she sits up high etc. But she didn't want to look like "soccer mom" anymore (we don't even have kids!). Anyhow, I bought her the TL SH-AWD Advance and she loves it and calls it her "sports car". Btw, the second car I bought her 18 years ago was a Corvette!

On to the story. We got some new CD's for Christmas and have been playing them in both of our cars this week. The TL is hers, but about once every couple of weeks we swap cars, so she has driven mine many times. Today she came home and out of the blue tells me how incredible her stereo sounds on some of the songs she has not heard in a long time. She was raving about the stereo in the TL. I made a comment that they sound good in my car too. She jumped on that and said "yeah, but my stereo is better than yours". BTW, mine is a Lexus GS with the Mark Levinson system!

Just thought that would be a fun and interesting story for the forum. Oh, and I agree with her. I like the TL stereo better than the ML - although it does sound awfully good too.

Nice story-happy lady. Just keep her happy. I've never heard the Mark Levinson system, but I'm a fan of the TL's sound system too.

I did not mean for it to be a thread in the audio part of the forum. It was meant to be a thread about a fun conversation about how my wife is bragging about her car. It could have been about any aspect of the car.

I love looking at new cars and deciding which one I want to buy. Hubby comes along but I choose. He gets to choose the car he drives. Luckily we both prefer manual transmission.

Justn, You can test drive my TL anytime but it needs a little detailing first ....

I do love the sound system in my car. I have changed out the audio system in nearly every car I have had.. or at least the speakers, including a full change-out in my '08 base TL. I cannot find any fault with the sound in my car, at all!

I love the system in the TL, however the speakers always seem to blow out, I've brought my TL twice to the dealership to get swapped out.

Last time was a month ago and I think I have another blowout.

My wife loves the TL too though!

I hate cars

I've got to hear the 4g's system. My friend's IS350 with the ML system blows my 3g's system away except for the true 5.1 surround disks. 3g's biggest problem was that it's under powered.

Going to look into these a little more since it's almost new car shopping time and since audio has become the newest obsession I hate to admit I'm looking at how upgrade friendly my next car will be.

read that a few years ago. the lexus came in just below the TL.
i also remember reading another comparisson that had 5 series and E classes in the mix too, and iirc, the Tl came in first as well, but i cant find that one.
