Entering destination using voice

Is there anyone able to enter a city or a street name by just speaking the city's or street's name instead of spelling the characters one by one?

I tried to enter the destination by using voice only, but the NAV never allows me to speak the city's or street's name. Instead, it asks me to spell the name one character at a time.... I read the manual....... and the system is suppose to ask me to read out the entire word of the city's name or the street's name..... but I never able to get to that screen..... is it only me that has this problem or is it the same for everyone else......

PS. I am a Canadian......so I owe a Canadian model....

On the screen where you spell out the city or street names, you'll notice that in the upper-right corner, the screen says "Change to Say Name". Press the talk button, say "Change to Say Name", then you'll be able to speak the city or street name.

The "Change to Say Name" command appears to be yet another omission from the Canadian TLs... It's clearly documented in the manual, but missing from the car itself; Just like the street name guidance text to speech option.

Spelling characters one by one might be ok if the car at least understood the standard phonetic alphabet. But again, despite the manual indicating it does, the car doesn't understand.

As is, I've given up on the whole speech thing as a completely useless gimmick. Maybe if it worked as documented...

Spelling works 100% for me.
I don't say "Dover" drive but "Dog Oscar Victor Edward Robert"

Maybe Canadian model is different, but...

There's a menu where you can select to enter the Street or City first. If you select the menu option using voice by literally saying "Street" or "City", it will expect you to enter the city/street verbally on the next screen. If you select the Street or City menu option by hand, it will expect you to enter it by hand.

It would be nice if you could just enter an entire address in one phrase. Certainly the software exists, Google has it on their automated 411 service for example. Works very well.
