Dvd 5.1

Does anyone know where you can find a good source of DVD 5.1 audio music for my 2010 TL SH-AWD? The DVD that came with it works great, but where do you buy these things? Can't download that quality or can you? Will the HD rip that quality of Audio?

Just Google 'DVD Audio Discs' - you'll find a lot. Just be careful to be sure what you are buying is an actual DVD Audio disc!
You can't rip the DVD audio discs to the HD - just regular audio CDs. There is also no place I've found to change the bit rate for ripping CDs to the HD - There have been a number of discussions about that on the forum. The consensus is the bit reate is pretty low - like 128?

Try searching the 3G forums on this site. There are several threads there on the same subject. I found them very helpful.

I created mine from my DVD Music video collection. I don't remember where I got the instructions from. Basically, you need two programs to convert DVD-Video to DVD-Audio.

1. DVD Audio Extractor to rip the 5.1 audio tracks from DVD-Video disc.
2. Cirlinca DVD-Audio Solo to create DVD-Audio disc.

The only thing missing was the name of the songs. The DVD-A made from the Cirlinca DVD-Audio does not support displaying the name of the songs. They all shown as unknown in the nav display.

Have fun if you the time. =)

For anyone that might live in the Baltimore area, I finally found a music store that has a small selection of DVD-A's from time to time (new and used). It's the Sound Garden at Fell's Point. I just bought "The Flaming Lips" DVD-A for $10 used.

^^^ Nice find-I wish someone still carried them here in Kansas City. That's a great price for a used DVD Audio disc.

Hey Steven, do you know any DVD-A albums out there that have a compilation of classic rock? I'd like an album with nothing but the best guitar songs of all time if that makes sense, but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on buying 4 or 5 DVD-A albums to get what I want (Eagles Hotel California DVD-A for $90?!)

Prepre, I actually bought a DVD Audio disc of rock music called "WomenOnTop". It has Pat Benatar, Ike & Tina Turner, Blondie, Missing Persons and The Motels on it. It's an "Inside the Music" series produced by Silverline. I don't know if you can find anything in the series, but see if you can find some of them in the links above.

Any tips for file formats etc when transferring between the two programs? I have the 2007 Clapton Crossroads Benefit on DVD and would love to listen to it in my 2010 TL!

Concert sounds best in DTS format, just not sure whether I should be doing direct transfer or what....

Found the info... when exporting the files, use OGG format with variable bit rate and highest quality. That will import into the other program fine.
