Dash/vent mounts for iPhone

Thanks to other forum users' suggestions, I have been using my iPhone to stream Pandora to my audio system. Works great and effectively replaces XM radio for free.

Now for safety and convenience I would like to mount my iPhone. This would also be useful for using the iPhone for navigation.

The Kensington Winshield/Vent mount looks perfect (Model K39210US). Has anyone used this on the TL? Will the vent mount work? Any alternative makes/models?

that looks good but i usually try to keep my windshield free of anything so i did find this online:

http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-veh...244-12995.aspx

its two pieces so you will need to order the phone mount seperately by clicking on Device Holders:

http://www.proclipusa.com/default.as...59&d_cat=17526

Only issue i can see is that it can be expensive....i'll try to pick one up later on

Good website, thanks. The Kensington model can mount on the windshield or the A/C vent, and I planned to do the latter. Wondering if anyone has tried it.

The Proclip worries me a little in that it requires spreading the plastic around the silver cockpit molding...and uses an adhesive to bind to the molding. So once installed it is forever. Custom designed for the 4G TL though...

Bought the car mount

For those who might be interested, I got the Kensington window/vent combo mount. I tried to mount the window mount on the shelf in front of the nav display, but it would not remain stuck to the surface. I did not want to obscure my vision, so I used the vent mount. It feels a little flimsy, but it is a cinch to connect to the vent.

Streaming Pandora (or iPod music) via Bluetooth works great. It also works well in landscape for navigation (I don't have Tech). The iPhone display is easy to see and reach.

The sound system seems to get confused sometimes if you have the USB cable plugged in (which you might want to do for charging even if you are using Bluetooth). It switches to iPod input sometimes. This may have to do with leaving it plugged in when I shut off the car... Will observe and update if I figure it out.

I will try to attach some pics if I can figure out how...
