Cost of 2nd Driver Key?

I'd like to know what others have paid for this. We don't have the tech package but was charged $270. $130 for the key and $140 for programming and was told it would take close to an hour to complete (we waited approx. 45 min.)

Thanks,

Jon

I bought two of those for my 2005 Accord because I thought the switchblade style key was cool (this was in 07 I think). I remember spending less than $100 for both on ebay. I only used one. Had the honda dealership cut it, that was $35. Had to take the transponder out of my factory Accord key and place it in the new key or else the car wouldn't start from it. Then I found a document online that showed me how to program the keyless entry buttons from within the car (it was very easy).
It looks like the prices for these keys have gone up, I see them on ebay right now for over $100 each. More than likely, something about the key has changed from the ones I bought a few years ago. And while you can probably program the buttons on your own, the transponder would need to be programmed by the dealer (unless you take one out of a key that was already programmed for your car). You might have saved some money by shopping around, but I doubt it would have been much.
