Bad Steering Wheel Audio Switch?

I have an intermittent issue where the volume and channel buttons go completely haywire. The down volume turns the volume up as does the up volume. Yesterday the channel up/down button was changing the volume level. If I tap on the buttons it stops, almost as if something is loose.

Has anyone had similar issues?

No issues thus far, sounds like faulty wiring.

I have experienced the same problem with my TL. I haven't had a Tech look at it yet. I will wait until I hear more about it. I have experienced the same problem with a TL our the lot.

Mine's done the same two or three times now over the last few weeks. If you kinda push the steering wheel volume control towards the left, it seems to fix it. I'll have to remember to mention it the next time the car is in for maintenance...

Interestingly enough, my 2001 CL has this problem! I even tried changing out the audio controls and no fix...

I haven't had the chance to bring my baby in yet. Plus my local dealer options since I moved to the Bay Area kinda suck.

Phew! I was starting to think it was just me! Sucks that it's happening to more than just me, but good to know I'm not alone!

I'm glad to hear that i'm not the only person having this problem. I've had my car since Dec. but this just started off and on recently. Once I restart the car everything seems ok. Really weird and hard to diagnose since the problem is intermittent. And I have the blown speaker problem

Yeah...I've read on here a couple of people have had a blown front passenger midrange speaker and my car is the same. It makes a bunch of static even at very low volumes. Annoying to say the least.

I have a similar problem, 05 TL. The volume control on the steering wheel to lower the volume does not click anymore and the controls hardly work to control the radio. On occasion when I turn the steering wheel my volume will lower to off.
I posted a request for help today, 10/12/09. I believe I have a short in the switch and need to pull the steering wheel off and replace the 3 switch assembly but need a little assistance from someone who has done this before.

Dealer couldn't see anything wrong

Just had my car in for regular maintenance this morning, and had them check out the volume/channel problem.

Unfortunately, they couldn't find anything wrong (not sure how much in depth they checked beyond trying to recreate the issue). On the other hand, the problem hasn't recurred since I last posted...

Regarding the wheel audio switch, I am seeing most posts mentioning the '09. Anyone with the 2010 car having the same problem?

My '09 AWD Base doesn't do this though it only has 3000 miles.
