Which audio format for USB on ELS?

new TL Advance, having a tough time figuring everything out so far. What is everyone's preferred audio format for USB stick use? I've tried FLAC and WAV, with absolutely no luck. There is no lossless option I am aware of... What are my best options people are doing, and at what kbps will the car handle? I think I read MP3, ACC, and WMA are advertised options. I'm only familiar with MP3 since I'm a windows guy.

You answered your own question. The USB interface will read/play MP3, ACC and WMA files. The other formats you tried are not supported. Also, I don't think the system cares what bit depth, etc the files are as long as they're one of those 3 formats.

I use plain mp3 and mp4a usually 320kbps, no lower than 128kbps. XM apparently runs 4-64kbps so you can definitely hear a reduction in quality

This may be correct in practical use, but I seem to remember the Owner's Manual setting out the "types" of mp3s and aacs that the system will allow. If I'm correct, then there are limits to the types of these files that the system will play (but, again, those limits may not have any practical effect).

I convert my lossless flac files to high quality 320kbps lame codec using dbxconverter and the sound is actually very good! It's the best you're going to get without going to DVD-audio which has a very limited selection.
