Address book import from Android phone

I have owned my 2013 for more than a year, but I have recently encounter this issue. I blew the whole day trying to solve it playing with the system, reading menu and search online...I do not seem to be able to solve the problem. Did I miss something obvious or am I searching for something that doesn't exist in the first place

Use case:

I got a friend's address with a shared contact on my Samsung Note 3, the contact is saved to my Contact with phone number, address and all the goodies. Now, I want to go to my friend's house...

Problem:

Car has the phone numbers but it is missing all of the contacts' addresses in the navigation from my cell phone. I have reset the car system to default and paired/unpair my cell phone many many times today. Each time, I was able to get the phone numbers onto the car... but for some reason the addresses do not show up. I then deleted all the ones with unicode characters, car still doesn't seem to pick-up any address from the phone.

Question:
Is the car only able to sync the phone directory and unable to sync the "address book" from the phone? Did I do something wrong? Is it an Android/phone limitation?

It does require getting an app.
