AcuraLink with Sprint EVO?

Anyone have any luck getting their Sprint EVO phone to talk to AcuraLink?

If so, could you post step-by-step instructions?

Thanks.

JM, what exactly is the problem? My Evo works fine, but it took a LONG time to download the phonebook. Thus far haven't had any issues playing music from the phone via BT either.

Mine works perfectly with phone book import, phone calls, BT audio. What I haven't been able to do is to get it to talk to AcuraLink's server.

I have an unlimited data plan and set the phone on tether, but it just won't sync up.

Same here. According to the Acura HFL site the Evo won't work with the diagnostics data connection, but then again it also says BT audio does not work when it does. I messed around and picked several phones on different carriers (Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon) people I know have and none of them showed on that site as compatible with the data connection.

I have the original Motorola Droid. Everything works great, except the Acuralink connection. I've noticed that when it tries to connect, the bluetooth icon on the dash flashes off and one. Has anyone been able to connect to Acrualink with an iPhone from Verizon?

My Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 did not work with Acura Link just like my EVO. It sucks. I have a neat app called Vlingo that is supposed to read you text messages and Emails as well as the ability to reply to them over bluetooth. I've yet to get it to work correctly. It will however let the person texting me know that I'm driving and cannot reply at this time. Its a potentially great app. I'm sorry to have stolen you thread but was having the same issues.

Thanks for the responses. It's not just my phone, I gather.

It doesn't seem like many phones will actually work with AcuraLink. I'm wondering now which ones, if any, do.

FYI: Before I UPGRADED to O.S.6.0.448, from O.S.5, no one from Acura C.S., Acura website, Acura dealer service,TMO. etc, had a clue.
As soon as the upgrade took effect, VOILA!, connection
Morale of the story; it's the smartphone software, that determines the link.
Everything else is B.S.
BTW: After my upgrade, the BT audio connection is problem free

Can anyone get AcuraLink to work with their EVO on the 3rd Gen TL? It seems like a great system. My Moms Motorola Razr worked fine with her 08 MDX w/Technology Pkg just fine. It's so funny that the simple phones work better than the smart phones in so many ways. My HTC Touch Pro2 downloaded the phonebook to my 08 TL's Phonebook just fine but it couldn't do the AcuraLink either. I wish the great Vlingo App would work but haven't had luck yet. This app reads you text messages and emails through the BT interface and has the ability to reply to the messages and/or emails as well. I'd love this feature to work as i receive well over 100 emails a day and would love to reply on the fly.

My EVO does everything great except connect with Acura Link. Phonebook, BT music, and hands free calls worked immediately after connecting.

Thank You for that update. Only thing my phone won't do then is AcuraLink and BT Streaming since I own a 3rd gen.
