Just got my new 2012 TL with Navi and I love it....except for one thing: The Phonebook, which was searchable in prior years, is no longer searchable! In order to find an entry, you have to scroll and scroll and scroll. I have about 1,900 entries and it is just not practical to keep scrolling to find an entry that might be several hundred down in the list.

In my wife's 2011 TL, you just jog the Selector Knob down to "Search Phonebook," select the first few letters of the name you are searching for and then select "List."

Has anybody else found this to be a problem? It kind of defeats the purpose of having the phonebook.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Congrats on your new car! I have a 2008 TL and my wife just upgraded from a 2010 RDX to a 2012 MDX.

The 2012 MDX Tech has about the same software. I will check her car and let you know my findings.

Have you noticed that you have to push more buttons to dial a phone number? We have to say, to push the Phone button, then the talk button, then say dial, then push the voice button again to say the number. You cannot put the Dial Command together with the phone number.

I spoke to the HFL folks and they say that is how it was designed. I told them I was upset about this. I really think it is a big distraction to your driving to have to push so many buttons just to make a phone call.

At least the Voice Tagging still works about the same way. Still have to push an extra button as compared to the older models.
