2012 TL with Dots on navigation

Has anyone seen this on the new TL? We'll get random dots that appear on the screen. We've turned off the breadcrumbs/off road tracking and they still appear. Obviously the TL isn't a duck, so we weren't driving around in the lake. Sometimes they appear on a diagonal across multiple blocks. Dealer hadn't seen it before and double-checked we had turned things off. Any ideas? If there is already a post about this and I missed it in my searching, please point me to it!

I have them too, 4 or 5 dots that don't seem to follow any road/border. They're close to my house sort of across a school yard. I'll ask the dealer next time I go there what they're supposed to mean.

read your manual that came with the car, it should explain it.

Thanks for helping by not helping at all. I have read the owners manual and the only thing I see as a possibility is "In other cases, you may see dots if the system temporarily goes off route, like in a parking garage where the GPS signal is unavailable.". When the dots appear, I'm still accurately being tracked on the screen. The dealer thought this could be the issue as well, but didn't think it was as the dots are in the middle of the lake and in areas it is impossible to drive. If there is something in the manual I'm missing, it would be appreciated if you could point to the specific section.

Turn off breadcrumbs in the nav menu? It's this way on the 3g at least. Nav will drop little dots there to leave you a trail to follow back if you're off the charted map. When you randomly see these in areas that are mapped and should be tracking, it's just where you're being mistracked. If you turn this off (and then back on) it should clear them all, and keep the feature available. If you're not worried about it, just turn it off.

Thanks - I'll double-check it is still off. We had it off but possible the dealer turned it back on when they were playing with the NAV. Hopefully that is all it is!

Potmilkz, is that all you have to offer? Really????

You mean, you couldn't have given further explanation? It's obvious-read the manual. He came to the 4G Community for a better answer.

I've seen this on mine as well. Though the area I saw mine in made it appear is if it one county was ending and another beginning because it was forming what looked like a border....that's not the case though because I was in the middle of a county. I'd like to know what they represent as well. Yours are especially weird since it's in a lake and they're pretty randomly placed. I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread because I'm curious as well.

I get those big time in San Antonio especially when the NAV map is in night time mode. I think predominantly shows in areas were there were trails or inside parking lots where there aren't actually named roads or streets, my guess anyway.
