2012 TL Advance vs. 2010 MDX Advance
Just picked up the 2012 TL Advance and notice a few differences and have a question.
In the MDX I can import the phone book and then search through it. I don't have to sit through an import screen each time I access my phone book.
The TL seems to not give me the option to search through my phone book and it shows an import screen every time I access the phone book.
The controls are a bit different so the import phone book option doesn't seem to be in the TL settings screen.
Thoughts?

I have an 09 TL and the phone book imports fine. You can re-synch it from time to time as you make changes on the phone. I test drove a '12 in anticipation of getting one (still working on that) and I did pair my phone when doing so. I did not notice any change or degradation to the functionality, but did not specifically import the phonebook. Have they done anything different here? I am using a Sony Ericcson.

My car has to have a problem. I know how to sync the phone and import the phone book. I've done it in my MDX Advance and have updated it on more than one occasion.
The TL will say it is importing the phone book and then it will slowly show the contacts. At no point does it allow me to search them. In the MDX once it imported, you could click down (I believe it's down) and that would access the search feature for the imported contacts. In the TL it doesn't show up.
If I exit the phone book, every time I re-enter it, it says Importing. At no point does it stop importing.
I guess I'll head back to the dealership and figure out if I'm doing something wrong, meaning it's way different than the MDX, or there is something wrong.

MODERATOR: Can you change the title to this thread? Perhaps "2012 Acura TL Phone Book Issues." Thanks.
I dropped my 12 TL Advance at the dealership about an hour ago. They tried syncing any phone and none worked. They all did the same thing, never finishing the Import and never providing a functioning Phone Book or Call History. They also tried to sync with the showroom 2012 TL Tech and it failed as well, same issue.
They plan on working with the Acura Tech line to figure out what the problem is.
My loaner 2011 TL syncs just fine. It gives me the option to import the phone book completely, storing it for access and searching. The actual interface has different options than the 2012 TL, specifically there is an option to add/delete an imported Phone Book, which my 2012 does not show.
Obviously this needs to get resolved as without fixing it there is no point to having a phone book. Certainly frustrating but hopefully they can come up with a quick fix. (doubtful)

Additional update:
Spoke with Acura Client Services. After many holds they informed me that Acura Tech is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. According to the person I spoke with, the idea of the system was to automatically update your phone book every time you connect. That way you don't have to re-import to update. The problem is that the system is not actually doing it properly.
We'll see what happens.

McGrath Acura in Morton Grove, which is where my car is being serviced, told me that Acura does not have a fix. They spoke with Acura Tech Line and they were told that it is being worked on.
My suggestion is call Acura Client Services and notify them of your issues. The more that do this, the faster they will find a fix. (hopefully)
