2012 - question on bluetooth and memory
First of all a question about the memory system as it applies to the sound system. I've read the manual which is very vague in this regard. I have the memory set for myself and my wife. As best as I can tell the only thing the memory system is capable of is remembering which radio station we both were listening to when we set the memory. I was under the impression it would revert to whatever we were listening to the last time we were in the car.
What I'm finding is that if we were listening to anything other than a radio station - such as the HDD - whenever the other of us gets in the car it comes on to the HDD that the other was already listening to. If I get out of the car listening to the HDD song XYZ, when my wife gets into the car with her key she will hear the HDD listening to song XYZ, not what she had set or was listening to last. I hope that is clear. It does not seem right to me - is that how it works?
Second, I now have both her and my phone set up to the bluetooth. But I don't see a way to set one of the phones to be the first preference if we both get in the car at the same time and both have our phone with us. Other cars I've had have a way to set one as the preference to pair. Is their a way to do that? Right now its pairing with mine I guess because I paired mine first. But I really want it to pair to my wifes phone if we are both in the car together.
Thanks for any help on either issue.

IIRC the memory should remember the last radio station or media for the driver Upon exiting the car. For example if you are the first recognized driver and were listening to your HDD when you exit the car and re-enter the car it should be playing the HDD. If your wife should enter the car and the last thing she was listening to when she exited the car was XM, it would tune into XM. The key is that you would have to lock the car with your key fob and she would have unlock it with her's and vice versa. With that being said, I'm gonna go try it right now.
I believe with the phones, you would have to pair both of them to your key fob and upon entering it will ask you which phone. Don't quote me on that one but for some reason it seems like I read that somewhere.

Thanks for the quick response.
I don't seem to have to lock the car and unlock it to get it to recognize which driver. I went back and forth first with one FOB then the other. It always knew which FOB I had because the corresponding memory light came on and it told me on the screen which I was. It only seems to revert to the correct mode if in the radio mode.
Regarding the phone, I don't understand programming it to a FOB. I don't see anything about how to do that??? Maybe I need to look into FOB settings instead of bluetooth settings????

I called the Acura Link hot line today and spoke with someone about the phone issue. She said there is no way to set one as a priority, but the system will "learn" which one is used the most in the car and will prioritize that one if both are present. Sounds a little questionable to me, but I suppose it's possible.
