I just bought a 2012 TL/Tech Package, and found the GPS Navi system is a crap compared to portable Garmin or TomTom. One example is that when I am on the road, and my house is just 3 miles ahead. Both portable GPS devices tell me to go straight, which is the right way. The TL Navi system however tells me to turn left, then right, then left. This happens to other places too which I know the right route. I fell like I can't trust it's routing. Did anybody has the similar experience? Are there any settings I can change like Garmin or TomTom for routing preferences. I have my TL GPS set to default but couldn't find anything I could really change to. Your advice is appreciated.

 

I have seen this a couple times too and yes it does not instill confidence in its routing capabilities. There are options to indicate that you want to maximize or minimize use of freeways, toll roads etc. Didn't make a difference to my routing but you can try. Don't remember their exact location but you should be able to find in the manual.

 

You are right, the options make no difference at all!
