I've taken my previous car (a Toyota) to an independent shop for oil changes twice before ... and I vowed to never do it again. They always fought me over the viscosity to put in the engine (Toyota recommended 5w30 year round and they kept insisting on 10w30), and part of the deal included free tire rotation. The last time, the bastards warped one of the rotors because they mis-torqued the lug nuts, plus they never bothered to check the fluids. I had much better luck with the Toyota dealer, plus I just felt much more comfortable going there. I intend to take my TL to the dealer for routine maintenance. My TL is leased and I want to take no chances.

I get free oil changes at my dealer for 4 years. I use synthetic(royal purple) in all my cars since they sit alot. When I DO drive them, I drive hard. After the free oil changes I will go to whomever has the cheapest price and will bring my own oil and filter. I prefer a place where I can watch my car. I am super anal.
