windshield durability

There was a series of major accidents on 495 south bound in Northern VA/Maryland last Saturday morning. I was driving and there are a lot of broken windshield plus other on the highway. I suddenly heard a big bang on the windshield which took my heart away. You know what? nothing happened. I washed the car when I got home and yes I don't see anything.

I got hit on the windshield twice so far and it left no crack or chip at all. On my previous cars, I got too many chips on the windshield. Is TL's windshield better than others or am I just lucky?

Anybody has similiar experience?

guytdt,

I travel I95N & S going to and from Fredericksburg, VA to the Pentagon. I have had small rocks, part of a semi tire and wood chips from a contractor's truck bed and (knocking on wood) just wipe off the smears and keep going and just increase my distance to cars around me. I do have chipped paint on the hood, working on getting the front wrapped soon (3M clear).

I can just say, keep your distance, but sometimes that does not even help. Good Luck!!!

Never ever had a chip or crack on my 3G but I already have one on the 4g. It seems more like a "luck of the draw" kind of scenario.
