Not racing, but I'm not the least aggressive guy on the road, either.

Couple of weeks ago, I had a chance to run her to the mountains. Sustained highways speeds of 70 to 75 mph made my economy jump up to 27 mpg. She's a car that's built to run...that's for sure.

Contrast with the wife's Ford Expedition: 11.5 mpg in the city, but a staggering 13.5 mpg on the highway. It's like pushing a brick into the wind.
I used to get 20.2mpg in the city. then i got my j pipe and atlp exhaust and since i like to hear the sound of the exhaust i would race around everywhere. now im getting closer to 19.0mpg

Oh and speaking of pushing a brick through the wind. we just bought a 2011 Sequoia and that thing gets like 13mpg highway.

You guys need to provide your MIDs average MPH data in addition to the mileage. My guess is the Mph reads less than 25 mph. Acura added this info for a reason to the trip computer. My 3G gets 19 regularly with a 3.2L motor and less weight. My Mph is usually less than 27.

Just thought I'd chime in my mpg experience with my 2011 TL (FW) which I've had for 15 months. I'd say I drive 70% highway (averaging 70 mph) and 30% city and I have never averaged below 23 mpg at the end of a tank and I'm usually somewhere in the 24 range.

If I fill up and then do some city driving I definitely noticed the gas mileage at the start is much lower. For example, filled up yesterday in the city and ran some errands that covered about 40 miles and I'm at 18 mpg. But, for my weekly drive which involves as I said 70% highway, after my drive to work to tomorrow my mpg will be back close to 23 mpg.

I looked at my "B" setting which I probably reset a month ago and it currently says I'm averaging 24.2 mpg. When I got the car I knew the rating was 20/26 so routinely ended up in the 24 range has been satisfactory for me.

^ You'll want to use the MPH setting on your MID. You might 'average' 70 while driving on the highway but it is likely to be <50 or even <40 if you use the MID's MPH value. That's because of the city driving plus all the time when the car is idling and not moving at all.

It's hard to have a 70 MID MPH read. I have only done that twice in 6 years with a MID=74MPH read for 270 miles on I-5 blasting up to Northern California. That trip is usually a MID=40-50mph trip with all the traffic you encounter on it.

I get about 21mpg in city and 24.5 on hwy(200 miles) on my 2010 TL sh-awd 6spd. Hwy drive AC on w/ avg speed 80mph. When I floor the pedal I only get 18mpg in city. Same city mpg on my 2000 TL I sold.
