Why is adaptive cruise control not offered on the TL?
I am a very satisfied owner of a 2010 Acura TL AWD w/Tech Package, and I am now looking for a new car.
I would like to stay with Acura, but they don't seem to be as "advanced" as they used to be.
For example, I can get a new 2013 Honda Accord with adaptive cruise control, but not a 2013 Acura TL!
Isn't Acura supposed to be more "advanced" and more upscale when compared to Honda?
I used to have an amazing 2006 Acura RL with adaptive cruise control and the collision mitigation braking system; I loved these features and was hoping that 7 years later, by 2013, those kinds of features would migrate down to the TL.
If I really want adaptive cruise control, which I really miss having since I had it on my 2006 RL, I might have to take a "step up" to a Honda Accord.
Does anyone know why Acura is not the technology leader that is used to be?
Thanks.

So, I guess you're implying that the 2014 Acura TL will definately have adaptive cruise control as an option, however I can get that feature now in a 2013 Honda Accord? Does that mean that Honda leads the way with technology development and Acura follows them?
I wonder if the 2014 TL will also have CMBS, which I loved on my 2006 RL?

^I'm sorry. 2015 is when the new TL(X) will debut.
And Acura always lead. up until recently, Acura got a little confused. they started to change up their line up.
so, the new (X)'s are gonna be laden with technology.
RL(X) being the flagship
and the TL(X) being the next tier down

The TL product cycle is a year to two behind that of the Accord. This should give the Honda engineers plenty of time to develop bug-free features on the more upscale Acura TL.

It probably helps to remember that the RL, back in 2005, had the adaptive cruise control. So Acura did introduce the technology ahead of Honda. As far as offering it on the TL, who knows, it could have been a perceived lack of market interest or a cost saving measure.

According to Motortrend, you were right the first time. The new TL/TLX is supposed to be a 2014 model debuting in the Fall of 2013.
I went to a 2013 Accord reveal party last night at Honda of Spring (dealership just north of Houston, TX). They had a V6 EX-L there that I found very impressive. The amount of tech they have squeezed into that vehicle for an MSRP of just over $30K is amazing. As a current owner of a 2012 TL, my anticipation of the new TL/TLX has only grown more intense.
Since the touring version of the 2013 Accord has LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitors, backup camera, and right side blind spot camera, I can't imagine that the new Acuras will have any less. It might be included in the new Advance package or whatever they choose to call it, but I would bet, it'll be offered.
I was told that dealers expect to see the 2013 Accord coupe to start arriving around October 15th.

The TL was suppose to get many of these features by now, if you you look atcthe gauge cluster, cmbs and acc indicaters are already there. When the economy tank Honda over reacted and stop pushing for Acura to compete with tier one, with no where left for the rl to go the TL did not get all it's features, would we be ready to pay 50k for a fully loaded TL with all these desired features
