.. you will be glad that you are in a car as safe as the 4G TL.


I was getting off from work and the traffic came to a grinding halt. I slammed on the brakes and TL came from 35MPH to stop in about a car and half length of space. I weave a sigh of relief and start glancing on my rear view mirror to see a Dodge Ram hurling down at me.... and then the inevitable happens.



The Ram gets a ding


and the TL gets


The green line shows where the rear beam should have been. And the circled space shows where they have broken off.

Waiting for the appraiser to come in tomorrow. Looks like the damages is going to be $$$. I wish this had happened 2 weeks back when I still had the old RL and not the new TL.

Man had that happen to me a few months ago on my 09 TL. The good thing is that it can be fixed and that your ok.

The Dodge Ram is a monster,glad you are okay,luckily damages are isolated to the back and easily fixable.

The combination of distracted driving and rapidly varying traffic speed is like a death trap on I-84 around the Hartford area. Co-incidentally this is the third time in 5 years that I have been rear ended on the highway. In the same period of time I have had atleast half a dozen other real close calls where I was able to swerve over to shoulder to avoid contact with the cars in the front and back.

Called my local Acura dealer and they recommended a good body shop they have been using for 20 years. Waiting for the insurance adjuster to call me tomorrow so that I can get the car taken in for repairs.
