What's your Age?

What's your Age?
I don't know how it is in other cities but here in Toronto, I have noticed that ALL 2009 and up TL drivers that I have seen on the road seem to be a lot older than me.
Every driver I see driving the new TL seems to be in the 40s or 50s or even some seem to be in there 60s.
This wasn't the case for the previous models from what I see on the road.
No hate on the older drivers. But I just feel like I'm driving a old mans car.
I have been very hesitate to do any aftermarket upgrades to my TL because of this fact.
Should have leased instead of buying the car.
Just needed to get this off my chest.
Let me know what you guys think
Thanks

Hi,
I live in Pittsburgh, and I see a mix of drivers who have the 4th Gen TL. I'm 27, and I have seen more than a few people in their late 20's early 30's driving our car.
I think it's because the TL is sporty, handles well, and has a good amount of power, that you get the younger folks buying them, but the TL also has pretty good ride quality (even with the sporty suspension), and that power makes it easy to cruise, which makes it appealing to folks over 30. Not to mention it has good interior space, pretty large trunk, and has an overall quality feel to it.
I believe that what you are seeing as a trend, is merely coincidental. Though I guess I could be having that same experience seeing younger and older drivers.
The TL is a cool car; if you enjoy the ride, you made the right choice.

I'm 28......I don't see many 4th Gens out here, but from what i do see, you right, drivers are a bit older. Dosn't bother me though......It handles and looks nothing like an Old Mans car. I love it!!

27 here. Haven't even paid attention to who drives these cars. If you like the car, then who gives a Damn? I would assume that more of the owners of these cars are older. 40,000 dollars is a lot for a younger person to afford without their mommy and daddy paying for it. Actually, I'd guess that just about any owner under 21 or 22 isn't paying for the car. On the other hand, a used civic would be more likely to have a younger driver than older.

I'm 22, was 21 when I purchased it. Not gonna lie, daddy DID help with $10k for the down payment. An early birthday present. I also had $10k to put as a down payment making it a total of $20k down. Everything else is coming out of my pocket. Call me spoiled if you want, but I don't think daddy paying $10k and me paying $30k is considered being spoiled.

It's actually the wife's car, but I picked it out for her and she picked the color. I'm 50 and she's 51. I see a mix of males & females driving these cars in CT. I think this car speeks to a braod range of people and age brackets. I can't figure how all you young people can afford these cars. Maybe I've just been a cheap ass all my life?

Well im 34 now, but I remember when I got my first Acura TL, it was a 1996 2.5 TL, I was 20 years old then, I have been driving Acuras every since then... Thats probably (my opinion)the case with most of your older drivers, we have been driving a good car for many years. By the way I have had at least one of every generation of the TL since it first came out... Great Cars!!! I still have my 1996 TL and its still rolling strong... 240K on the dash....

I think it would be an exceptional 20 year old who's buying
a 40 thousand dollar car without some help. I don't feel that the current TL
is a young or old man's car. It's just a very good car. Just enjoy it and don't let
the fact that some of us older guys appreciate the TL bother you
Man, what crap I was driving when I was your age! '64 VW bug, and the exquisite '66 Dodge dart!
Frank (Awaiting delivery of my '11 TL Tech six speed)

So this topic got me thinking about Hondas and Acuras I had at different ages and with different people I was with.
My first was an '88 Legend Coupe,'89 Integra Coupe, '91 Teg Coupe, '99 TL,
'01 CL Type S, '03 S2000, '05 RSX Type S, '08 Accord Coupe
V6-L six speed. The Accord is part of my trade for the '11 TL as soon as it arrives from Ohio.
The RSX was considered a "young" man's car, but that never bothered me. I drove the hell out of it.
It was a lot of fun. That's one I wish I'd kept!

I'm almost 54. I'm seeing more 4G TL's in Kansas City, but not modded cars though.

Most of them are relying on their parents to buy the car. Even the guy whose dad only paid for 25% of the car is working for his dad's business. I am 27 and just got to the point where I could comfortably afford the car without compromising anything else in my life. Maybe its easier when they don't have a house or the imminent future to worry about? I wouldn't even have the car if I didn't have a car allowance to make it feel safely within reach.

I'm 58. This is my second Acura. I leased a new 2001 CL and when the lease was up, I got a Toyota Solara SLE convertible. The lease was up on the Toyota, so back to Acura. As an aside I was a comptroller for an Acura dealership from 1988 to 1995.

Im 19. I got the car when i was 18 though. I don't know if most people would call me spoiled but the story behind me having a TL is that my mom got it for me as a graduation present. The deal was that she would buy me a new car if i got straight A's throughout high school. The thing is that the TL was actually not a car i was looking into. We've gone to the Honda dealer looking at 2009 Civic Si's and the Accord coupe. Even before than i'd looked into used Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9's. I even offered to pay 5k for the civic and she pay the rest. Than the day came when she told me my brand new car was outside in the driveway, i was expecting a Civic Si and than BANG a brand new 2009 CBP TL. So call me spoiled...idk but i love my car.
