I'm talking from a purely exterior design point of view.
These are mine:
1) Mercedes CLS (not really more..I just like it as much)
2) Maserati Quattroporte (maybe just a bit more)
3) Aston Martin Rapide (it is simply drop dead gorgeaous, the sedan of my dreams)
....however from a practical standpoint I would not probably own any of them because of the lack of a manual transmission (I just hate driving slushboxes even for everyday use)
I'm dead serious, if I had a significant amount of wealth I would definitely own LOTS of fun toys to drive around but a manual TL would still be part of the stable as one of the everyday cars.....

I'll limit it to vehicles somewhere near the same class. Of the ones I can think of :
1) Audi A4/A5
2) BMW 3
3) BMW 5 (same class?)
4) Cadillac CTS
5) Lexus GS (same class?)
I don't think the G37 looks better. Well, some days it does and other days, not so much.

CTS-V or M3 are the only two cars that I would dump the TL for. That new CTS-V wagon is pretty sweet... that added space might make the trade easier to sell to the mrs.

I will also limit it to reasonable cars in a close/similar class. 4G TL is one of my favorite cars out there... the only other cars i love more, are all coupes (S5, CTS-V 2dr, E550 coupe)
1) Benz E63
2) Benz C63
3) Infiniti M56
I dont like the new Audi A/S4 (loved the RS4)
IS-F looks strange with the fender flares and front end
BMW 3/5 series are a dime a dozen.. (regardless of M package or not)
Lexus 3GS is a nothing super special (not worth $$ IMO)
CTS-V coupe is 10x better looking than the sedan

Q-Porte, Rapide, E39 M5, CTS-V, all the usual suspects.
But I also like the old 850 turbos, the Pontiac 6000 (especially the STE), pretty much all generation Accords (except for the 8th), Mk1 Jetta, Phaeton, W8 Passat.
Oddballs and sleepers FTW

The Mercedes-Benz CLS is not really a sedan...it's a coupe.

When you put the Quattroporte
The Mercedes CLS
And the breathtaking Rapide
Next to the Panamera
You immediately realize the difference between elegance and tackiness, between exquisite styling and bad taste....like the 300C...no amount of lipstick on that pig will make that car elegant or graceful....

The Maserati Quattroporte "S" sure is distinctive.
I'm pretty fond of their brand-spanking-new, four-seat convertible (alas, two doors). Saw it up close last August at the Pebble Beach Concours. Very impressive. The wife liked it a lot. Scheming wheels are turning.

^ Never been a fan of widebodies, but I think that looks amazing, and professionally done. Just needs a wash.
