Previous daily drivers were Pontiac Grand Prix's, 1981 & 1995. Didn't like the present GM offerings or the reliability problems, so I purchased the 2009 TL, my first non GM car. Love the looks of the car along with it's noted reliability and after 16 months only a blown speaker as a problem.

I was driving a 99 BMW 540i 6spd. This is however my 4th Acura, I bought a 01 MDX, 07 MDX (both for my wife) and a 09 TSX for my son, my experience with these cars was a major factor in my choice of the 10 TL.

I was driving a 06 Toyota Solara SLE Convertible. I owned a 2001 Acura CL before the Toyota. My connection with Acura goes back to almost when Acura first appeared in the US. I was the Comptroller for an Acura dealership from 1988 to 1995.

This is my first Acura. Gave my 2003 Saab 9-3 Vector (50k miles) to my sister which was a great excuse to buy the TL and before that had a 1996 Camaro Z28 which I loved which worked well when I lived in CA, but not so good in MA in the winter. The Saab was at the dealership a lot (you want to talk rattles), the Camaro was pretty solid.

'06 TL, then needed awd, so quickly traded for '06 RL which I just traded 2 weeks ago for the '10 TL sh-awd w/tech. Had '04 Infiniti G35 coupe before the '06 TL and love Acura way more than Infiniti. Did look at a 535i xdrive, but when adding all the toys, it was $25 grand more and don't regret my decision. Just under 500 miles and loving it until it.

I was driving a 2006 Honda Civic EX Sedan. I wanted an upgrade in every possible way, and I got it. A bigger faster car that was quieter and more luxurious.
Probably going to get my next car in 2013 or 2014. I have a feeling I will not be getting another TL if it grows again in size next gen. Regardless of how good the current TL SHAWD handles, a lighter smaller car should handle better, and I don't think the TL will reverse in size. I think a vehicle the size of the TSX would fit my needs better. Here's hoping for a SHAWD coupe, or SHAWD TSX.

Way back, I had an '88 Legend coupe. I had an '89 Integra, '91 Integra, '95 Maxima, '99 TL, '01 CL Type S, '03 S 2000
and while I'm waiting for my '11 TL, I have my two trades. '08 Accord V6-L six speed, and '08 Frontier Nismo 4X4 pick-em-up.

2006 TL 6SPD (Anthracite)
2007 TL-S 6SP (Kinetic Blue)
2008 LEXUS IS-F (Matador Red)
2010 TL SHAWD (Crystal Black )
I like the TL, but I have to admit, I DID NOT WANT TO GET RID OF MY IS-F and miss it dearly, (long story)...
RIP..... (dont have pic of anthracite 06, or the 2010, because I havent been excited enough to take pics since i got rid of the F :-( )

I was driving the wife's Nissan Pathfinder before we got the 09 TL. Needless to say, but the difference is night and day between these cars. In either case, I rarely drive these cars because I'm a speed junky and prefer my motorcycle for daily transportation.

i had originally had the 06 tl, then traded it when the 07 TYPE S came out, then i had sold the 07 Type S TL after the lease was up on it, and bought the F, and also bought a 2010 TSX for my wife the same day.... then i got a new job which provided me with a company car which I did not have room for, nor did i see the point to have 3 cars with 1 sitting around, nor were they willing to give me an allowance for my personal car, nor did i want to drive the F around putting 30k on it a year, plus paying for gas, and giving up the company car, so I tried to sell her TSX, but couldn't find anyone to buy it, (i was going to have her drive the ISF, and me drive my company car, but then decided since we live in WA and it rains a lot, and we are starting a family I didnt want her driving the F with a baby in the rain, 420HP RWD not a good combo for her....) so then i tried to just sell the F and keep the TSX, but then i decided I didnt want to drive the TSX around on my off days, time was running out so i traded both in for the TL which was sporty enough for me to drive, easy for her to drive in the rain and snow, and free'd up room and got rid of the issue of having 3 cars.
sounds like a big deal, but not really as big a deal for me as most, my job is in the car business, so cars come and go, and i dont get too attached, because i typically only have a car for 2 years MAX. plus i can write off a big portion of the lease payments (being in the business)
i spend a lot on cars every year, but not as much i used to , since i only have one car that is actually mine. and since im in the car business, i typically dont lose much on cars when I trade.
But yes I blow a lot of money on cars, but it doesnt bother me too much, because i like cars, and i like nice cars, and get bored easily with them.
And as much as I miss the ISF (really the only car ive ever had that i really wasnt happy about getting rid of) its just a car, and ill get another one some day im sure lol... The ISF was bad-ass, hands down the sickest car ive ever owned. loved that car

I was driving a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed (bought new) which I did absolutely love it.....literally nothing went wrong with that car (93k miles) not even a light bulb....some people called the Maxima a "poor man's BMW 530"....well it was a smart man's 530.....
Hopefully my new TL SH-AWD 6 speed will take me throught a similar trouble-free journey as well....

I've had 2 Honda 4-door Accords, but was driving a Chrysler Sebring convertible before I got my first Acura.

Can't believe there is not TSX in the polls. Anyway I traded a pristine 2006 TSX.Sold the day it was put on the lot. Sort of miss the nimbleness of it. Of course I like small cars and my 09 tl reminds me I am not in a small car. Thank goodness for my Miata. Then again after a days ride in the Miata, I say, thank goodness for my TL -

The TL is the longest car i have ever driven that wasn't a minivan, longer than all acuras (except the RL). I actually find it difficult to fit in tight parking lots sometimes. For comparison (length):
Civic sedan 177.3
TSX sedan 185.6
MDX 191.6
TL 195.5
RL 195.8
Odyessy 202.9
yea longer than an MDX, just a few inches away from the odyessy
Hopefully acura starts to make small feature packed vehicles in the future instead of only putting nice features into giant cars.

loved that car. handles every extreme weather condition without any problems before it finally died this year. Maybe the 100 feet of snow last winter had something to do with it...

This is my 3rd car in a year and this one is definately a keeper (thankfully I didn't loose any money on the last deal.
I purchased a new 08 Accord Coupe V6-6 in 2008. Loved the car but it drove like crap in the snow and after not really being able to drive it at all last winter I decided to buy my first SUV. Bought a new 10 4Runner in March but it never really felt right. Nice car but it wasn't "me."
Decided to start looking at replacing it with a car w/ AWD. Started looking at the TL and G37x and after searching and looking at reviews and driving them I settled on the TL SH-AWD. I love this car because it reminds my a lot of my beloved Accord but now I have AWD and 4dr's.
