Watch out for flying sticks!

GRRR! A slim piece of wood came flying off a trash hauling truck, hit the SUV in front of me and then poked right into my car, rupturing my AC condenser.. and who knows what else.

Hard to react going in traffic going 75

Aww man! Sorry to hear about that. Yeah that sucks. I had a similar thing happen to me on the beltway, except it was a piece of tire rubber. Hope it's not too bad.

Love the carnage!

the belt and 59 ramp sucks. I head out of work at 4 just to beat rush hour.
She'll be fixed up and good as new in a few weeks

I leave work at 3:30, hit that ramp at around 3:45-3:50.

A few days in the shop and she'll be raising hell again!

Looks like it'll get a condenser and radiator change, $500 deductible... sucks that I have to foot that bill and I was only just cruising along, with the flow of traffic.

I saw the wood flying in the air and tried to miss.. even thought I did since I heard nothing but. never saw it in my rearview.. I was shocked when it started getting hot in my car (96 degrees out at the time). Stopped and saw that stick! It's a strip about 1.5 inches wide and maybe 1/4 to 3/8" think by about 24 long .. maybe longer.

I just thought is was pretty strange to hit and impale itself though that part of the nose.. Much better than the guy in the video. holy sheet!

Sorry to hear of the mishap. Good thing it wasn't more serious. $500, was that your deductible? Do you have a deductible for comprehensive coverage?

Holy $#it!!! I would have never expected that to happen. Only inches from hitting someone in the head. Not even time to react.

scary stuff. just goes to show how unpredictable things can be. The guy in the video is very lucky a few inches to the left would have had a very different outcome.

Wow!
I probably miss you by like Minutes. (when its fixed, I'll be on the look out for a white 4G.)

it can get pretty scary on that ramp, especially the merging lane before the ramp.

Oh yeah, with those jerks that feel they have to dive in at the very last second? Those types really tick me off. I tried being in the 3rd lane last week, the exit ramp was at a stand still.. I ended up going down to the next exit and back tracking instead if dive bombing my way in.

Driving here is not for the meek or faint of heart!

Stew, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully the insurance takes care of you quickly. I know you have a truck but do you have rental in your policy? I love driving rentals lol.

I guess that's why race cars have mesh screens to protect the radiator/oil cooler... tough break...

I always cringe when I see some debris up ahead when on the freeway. I try to anticipate where stuff might be flying if the drivers in front of me hit the stuff but you never know where things can go. Another thing I try to avoid like the plague is when I see a concrete mixing truck or rock hauling truck ahead. Little bits of stuff always come flying out to chip your paint.

It seems every concrete truck is on the road when head to work... I also do my utmost to steer clear.
