Warranty extension
My ride is 2012 fwd TL. Factory warranty is going to expire at end of the this May. Today did the transmission fluid change and alignment at Dealer. Bought a 5 years 80000 miles factory warranty for $1930, 18 month finance 0 rate. is it a ok deal?
I found the wheel is damaged a little bit after alignment, Is it common? special edition wheel

btw, 5years/100,000miles is based on purchase date and current milesage, you have another 5 years or another 100,000 miles warranty? example, current mileage is 26,000, so the car is covered until 126,000 miles in another 5 years?

If I were you, I would still reach out to Saccucci and/or Bernardi to get competitive pricing so you can be an informed / educated consumer. How do you know what a good deal/price is? Keep in mind there are variables - Model year, current miles, trim level and I dont' know why, but also state car is registered in. Another point to consider is your dealer is apparently financing you for 5 years at 0%, I don't believe Saccucci or Bernardi offer financing, but you can double check. This financing may be part of the reason your costs are higher.
Assuming you are talking about AcuraCare (and this is the only extended warranty plan you want), the extension of the warranty is based on the in service date of your vehicle. So the total miles would be 100K and the total time would be 5 years, not 100K extra miles or an extra 5 years from purchase date of the contract. If you have purchased a warranty plan other than AcuraCare, I would make sure you have read all the terms and conditions very, very carefully.

I quoted AcuraCare from curryAcura which is another dealer, They sent me a whole list of plan. I saw the plan I bought which is G58 listed there with 1230 dollars. I quoted under my current car condition and mileage. I did the 18 months finance. Dealer confirmed with me that is another 5 years based on plan purchase date. But I did not ask is another 80,000 miles or total 80,000miles.
I did the finance for extension warranty, Can I easily cancel it?. Dealer told me 3 times that it is cancelable and transferable.

Curry is another dealer, but others have reported they are good but not the cheapest. I have personally purchased three extended warranties from Bernardi and was not aware of Saccucci at the time. Another dealer folks have tried and had decent success is Hyannis Honda.
It has been a few years since I have purchased an extended warranty, but I would be very surprised if the warranties are now full time extensions. I look at it this way. You have a model year 2012, and you say the OEM warranty will expire in May. So theoretically as of today your car is 3 years 9 months old. I'm having a hard time believing Acura is going to extend your warranty and cover your car until it is nearly 9 years old. If so, good for you.
Historically both the AcuraCare and HondaCare extended warranties have been both cancelable and transferable. The cancelable part results in a prorated check being sent back to you based on the remaining unused time and mileage. There is a form you need to fill out, which if I remember, is in the back of the warranty information booklet. Seeing you have just purchased your extended warranty, the dealer might be able to cancel the entire transaction for you.
I don't know if you have actually gotten your AcuraCare warranty info in the mail yet, but that would be the ultimate resource for answering your question. Again the information I am sharing is based on my experiences, but again is a few years old at this point.

Again, I'm going based on my experience, but am pretty sure I'm correct. The only extended warranty plan we still have in effect is on my daughter's Accord. It's an 09 EX-L and we bought it used in Sept of 2012. from an independent dealer. We purchased a 7 yr / 80 K extended warranty fron Bernardi Honda and it expires in July of this year because the original in service date by the original owner was July 2009. 2009 + 7 = 2016.
Either way, I agree that you need to have a discussion with the dealer you bought your warranty from to clarify and at the very least get a chunk of $$$ credited back to you.

Thanks for so detailed info and reply.

A co-worker bought a 2013 Highlander back in September and purchased a 4 year Toyota extended warranty which started from the in service date of the vehicle which was March 2013. So in his case his extended warranty expires in March 2017, not in Sept 2019. Or when his mileage limit is reached.
I hope something has changed that I am that I am unaware of, because if what the dealer told you is possible I would definitely buy a 5 year Acura plan for our 2011 TL with 27K miles. It would be a no brainer, I may make a couple of calls this week to see what they say.

Account closed
paid $1400 for 8/120 from my dealer (had to argue quite a bit) got the same price for my TL Advance as my TSX Sportwagon
also, warranty starts from the day the car was put into service (original sell date if purchased used)

Hi, all
Just cancelled the silly deal I made on Saturday without any trouble. Dealer called me this morning and now willing to adjust down the price but want to cancel for me.
On the other hand, I quoted from Curry acura which is located in MA. I live in NH. They sent me a whole list of extended plan which includes the one I just cancelled (G58). It is another 5 years from plan purchased date and 80,000 miles on Odometer totally(mine is curren 26,000miles, so end up at 80,000 miles or another 5 years whichever comes first) Curry acura wants to sell it to me for 1230 dollars no fiance available. one time payment

We are all saying it because this is the way it works. I would suggest you pull out the warranty paperwork and warranty card you received and validate the information your dealer is emailing you. If, in fact, what your dealer is telling you is correct for you - you are lucky.
