Waiting for Trade-in check from Paragon Acura, Northern Blvd

Leased my tl 4/28/13 from Paragon Acura. I had a QX56 to trade in that had equity. I got$7,000 equity for the truck, I used $2k as a down payment and the $5k was supposed to mailed to me. Sales person said it will take about a week. Every week is a different excuse. I went in to the dealer today to surprise the sales person, he wasnt in but his manger/supervisor said he will take care of it and will call me back at 3PM today. I took his information down, and will follow up with him. Meanwhile I'am still making $768 payments to Infinity, which I know I will get refunded once the bank pays for the truck. BTW another payment is due on June 8th. Point is, if I didnt have common sense, I would of never called Infinity to see if the truck was paid off, and I would be hit with late fees, etc...

I'am really pissed off at this point, I feel like Acura needs to make it up to me, for the lack of communication. Its not fair of me to make 2 car payments. What do you think I should say? Would it be out of line to ask them to trade in my 17's for the 18's? tint my windows? remote starter? lower my monthly bill? What do you think?

why didn't you just roll everything into the lease and opt for lower payments. That is a large sum of money to trust the stealership with. Having said that it usually takes 2-4 weeks to get the dealership to send a check.

FWIW, do a search here on AZ for "Paragon Acura." Many complaints re: Paragon here on AZ. YMMV. Good luck!

It doesn’t hurt to call Acura customer relations and try to file a complaint against Paragon. But I am afraid they will tell you that this is between you and the dealer.

Since Paragon worked out the terms/details of your lease & trade with you, any money due you is coming from Paragon and not Acura.

I have a feeling Acura customer relations is going to wash their hands on this one and tell you to fight it out with Paragon.

Paragon is known as one of the worst Acura dealers in NYS.

Paragon sucks! They lie incessantly. I bought a TL from there in 2010 and was lied to repeatedly. Even when I called them on their lies, they kept lying. I was there for over 3 hours and during my time waiting, I overheard a salesman tell a blatant lie to a customer over the phone. So I know they weren't just lying to me.

I wish you the best in getting your check but you should worry the crap out of them until they do what they're supposed to do. After my experience 3 years ago, I don't trust them for anything.

Hey OP, just wondering did Paragon take care of this for you or are they still jerking you around?

Paragon tried taking me as a fool when I got my 12 from them, the only reason I did buisness with them is because my best friend is a salesman there.

Wow, here are some Paragon review Quotes:

Words cannot express how much this location makes me want to rip someone's head off
-Marie K.
Roslyn Heights, NY

Paragon Acura has the worst customer service of any car dealership that I have ever visited.
-Shawnna H.
East Elmhurst, NY

A huge FAIL for Paragon Acura because not only are they shady but they screwed up robbing my of my time and money with their sheer incompetence. If they had just gotten back to me in a timely fashion and communicated at all and knew how to apologize for screwing something up I would have just scheduled the 2nd appointment to fix the "problems" with my car

What had happen was, I purchased a 12 AWD advance from him with 280 miles on it, purchased an extended warranty and a week later had second thoughts about it. Went back to the dealer and told them to cancel the warranty they put the paperwork thru in order for me to cancel it, my boy called me and convinced me to get it so I did and they charged my cc again. So out of the blue they never put the paperwork thru and it showed that I had 2 extended warrantys. It took me almost 2 months to get it resolved and I had to get my cc company involved. They are way to shady there at paragon.

The issues members are mentioning in this thread and others have been going on at Paragon dealers for as long as I can remember, at least 10+ years, no joke. Yet Honda/Acura allows them to get away with it.

I really can’t remember anyone who has dealt with them not having some type of problem with their sales tactics, changing of previously agreed to terms or service after the sale..

I guess they must sell a lot of cars so corporate looks the other way.

My dealing was with Paragon Honda (same company as Paragon Acura) that just made me cringe.

A NY car dealer salesperson telling you that they tax on the entire selling price of the vehicle despite there being a trade in and then a sales manager confirming it.... blatantly screamed CROOKS! Altho when I was walking out, they apologized and confirmed that I was right and that the tax should be on the difference, it was enough for me to say thank you but no thank you.

Fortunately you knew better, but just think about how many people they pull this trick on that don’t know any better.

You might want to check with Infiniti to make sure you are getting a refund for the payments you made before you consider this issue closed.
