Traded my 2009 FWD for 2010 AWD...WOW!
Just traded in the 2009 CBP/Ebony TL FWD TECH for a 2010 CBP/Ebony TL SH-AWD. What an amazing difference. My Acura dealer was bending over backwards to do a deal and I am so glad they did. I wanted this car in Sep of 2008 but had to settle for the FWD. It's odd to trade in an 18 month old car for a new one but it was the greatest decision ever. This car is amazing.

I just bought a 2010 SHAWD, but if Honda decides to put the 6 spd auto in, revise the styling, and add more goodies (advanced package? ventilated seats?) I might be willing to trade and take the loss. Besides, acura has the highest resale value for luxury cars right? why not take advantage of that?

This is my 34th car in 28 years of driving. I think it's possible I would trade up too

I sat down and put together a list of most of them on my facebook page. It looks like a page on autotrader. The good news is I always do well on purchasing and selling off. The bad news is no matter how good the good news is, it's still bad.

I've been thinking about trading my FWD for a AWD but the more i think about it, the crazier it sounds. Maybe in another year or two il go for it. I just love my FWD too much as well as it being my very first car so im happy with it.

Here's a little detail on the 2009/2010 swap
Hi all, Here's the deal. I put 20% down on the 2009 FWD so I was never upside down on the car. I've been talking to my dealer for months about trading up but they told me to wait until after January when there were deals coming. I finally went to visit the dealer on 3/1 and luckily there was a $2000 incentive rebate as well as 1.9% financing. All the planets aligned and was able to get out of the showroom with the 2010 with $1000 down (out-of-pocket) and the equity I had in the 2009. I got the 2010 for dealer invoice (i didn't ask to see the invoice) so roughly $39,000 plus the equity and the 1.9% made it happen.
I was originally just going to just put RonJon 19" or 20" rims on the 2009 (because I've been embarrased of the stock 17's since day one) which would have cost me well over $3000 but instead I spent $1k and ended up with a 2010 gem. I don't want to think about what kind of money I lost in the deal. All I care is that I spent $1k, I have a 2010 SH-AWD and my monthly is $22 more than before. Challenge your dealers!

All that matters is that you walked away happy. That's the best ending to any deal. Congrats

I have a feeling just putting the 6 speed auto in the TL will help the acceleration and fuel economy significantly.
If they can get the 0-60 at or below 5.5 seconds, improve the midrange (or make use of the torque), improve fuel economy. I may be willing to trade up. (also assuming they'll tweak the styling and add on more features)
Because my 305hp sporty sedan doesn't feel like it has 305hp. My gf's 265hp audi A5 can whoop my ass and the 5 spd auto transmission seems to not be able to shift fast enough (even in S mode) to overtake cars sometimes.

Three Wheelin'
Well, the ZDX weighs 4421lb and does 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and gets 20mpg according to car and driver.

If you are happy it's a good deal.
Who cares how much you lost in the process. Buying a new car is a loss of money in and of itself anyways. You only live once!
BTW, TL has no more room to shave any weight from. With all the safety regulations, size that is simply big, noise insulation and stuff, there isn't too much to trim from. The advantage has to come from a 6 or 7 speed tranny which will give you significantly shorter 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.
Has any of you ever had a 4th generation Maxima with the 4 speed auto? it feels and it actually is very slow even though the car weighs only 3000 lbs with the mighty VQ producing 200 HP. The reason is stupidly tall gearing. If a car produces like 400-500hp like in one of those super cars, then gearing doesn't have that big of an effect. But anything close to 300HP and under, gearing and torque multiplication is very important.
