I live in PA but have traveled many times to VA for my purchases and I can tell you it has been nice to get back to PA, remove the front license plate bracket pop it the hole covers and call a day... Now you will need to get them plugged or use theses guys and then have the bump...

This is just crazy....

Perfect solution for the bumper holes.

Just have the dealer fix the paint and enjoy your new TL!

I was thinking of a solution to the bumper holes without the whole bumper repaint.

It would be possible to drill out a hole big enough for the 2009-2011 bumper plugs to fit, then just glue the plugs back into place from the rear since they won't clip it.

Make sense?

See of bumper plugs.com has something to fix the holes. They make BMW, Porsche stuff, but might have an application that will work, and they can do custom paint matching.

The dealer has promised to fix both issues. I am bringing the car back next week to review options, but so far the dealership's willingness to resolve these issues has been great.

The GM has called me twice to ensure all will be taken care of, just need to determine what should be done next (repaint the entire hood, plug the holes and touch-up or repaint the bumper, etc.).

Thank you all for the advice and comments. The last thought I will leave you with is a quote from my wife after driving it to work the last few days - "This car is a fun to drive as the BMW (650i Convertible) was with the top up, almost as powerful; and the electronics are much better".

Not sure I was expecting that high of an approval rating from her.

glad everything is working out for u man ... if u are going to be repainting the hood, might as well get the bumper repainted too ... if there is anyway to fix the hood without a repaint then u should just get the bumper touched up so u can save the factory paint when it comes time for resale ... just my 2 cents

If possible, can someone post up a picture of these license plate holes in the bumper?
I can't see how the hole would not eventually crack out and destroy the entire bumper unless the holes were bevelled or something

There are actually two little "dimples" in the front bumper cover which are pilots for the holes.
