TL Lease
yet another lease thread...
Wondering if anyone has access to MF and residuals for 2014 TL base model?
I plan on leasing one and want to know if I am getting a decent deal or screwed.
I have asked the dealership for their "costco" pricing, which is 'generally' around 500 over invoice.
Planning a 10K/yr, zero down lease.
Currently being quoted $404/mo (+tax) plus $1555 'start up" fees. Total would be $437/mo with tax.

I'd say go for the tech as well. Plenty of a'ziners have regrets about not doing so but no regrets from us Tech owners. At the same time I think you could do better on the price you were quoted. The 4g is in its last year and dealers will want to clear them out by years end and in prep for the upcoming TLX. If you can wait a little longer time will be on your side.

I don't drive much to be honest, I have a 2011 3 yr lease I am returning with less than 25k miles, and have no problem using the nav in my phone when I need it. If i were buying, different story...
Unfortunately I am stuck needing the car before 1/6/14 as that's when my current non-acura lease expires.

I appreciate your opinion, but I am not looking for help in choosing a car, just getting favorable price/lease rates on the car I have already chosen.

Good point!
I have the base model that everyone likes to slag, but I am very happy with it. I have no need for the tech stuff. The TL is a pretty nice car, I don't think there is much comparison with the Accord although I know they share some parts. The seats in the TL are far superior.
OP, have you considered buying used? You could save a lot of money by getting a 2 year old TL e.g.

I thought about buying, but I just don't love the car enough to want it more than three years out... Maybe when the new stuff from acura has worked into the system... Nor do i want to be selling it private party when the model no longer exists.
As to the tech, I had a tech TSX before and while it was nice, the nav pissed me off regularly when I would try to enter an address. Now, my google maps ALWAYS get it right without me needing to know the zip code, etc... I am happy to use the cell phone for nav when I need it. Otherwise, all I seem to get with tech is pushbutton start and some extra speakers/watts.

If you need to lease by the first week of 2014 I'd definitely try to do it before the end of this year. The best prices will be offered during the last weekend. You could wait until Dec 31 but then your color selection is liable to be less.

I do need to point out your math is off on the price tho. 1555/36 months equals $43.20 a month on top of the $404 which is $447.20. You also + tax which should add about $36 for a total of 484.09.
That's is a lot in my opinion!
You better double check your deal before you sign anything!

the $1555 was the dest/doc/etc fees, to be paid in full at the time of the lease inception, not spread over the payments.

Yeah but you stated you wanted a zero down price in the opening thread. Zero down "typically" means you are only giving 1st month and motor vehicle.
My point is I think that's a lot for this car if you factor all that in. I picked up a '13 TL SE last month and I pay 400/month with only having to give the dealer 900 at signing. If I rolled that in my price. would have been 422/month! Negotiate because it think you can get it a lot cheaper!

I agree, and I see what you are saying. Corey is giving some good pricing info in the 'incentives' thread....

Based on Corey's awesome info () I sent the dealer an email telling him I would pay $32,023 (Edmunds invoice less $3000) including dest and advertising fees. I am happy to leave them with $250 of the Dealer cash if it makes it a smooth transaction. Now, if they try a $800 doc fee or some super low residual, we got problems...

This is for a 2014 and the dealer said yes to the price. Just need to work out residual, MF, fees.

Agreed.
another dealership is coming in around $299 plus tax per month, 10k, $1300 due at signing (first month, docs, reg, etc).

Got the car silver/greystone
I git a very good deal on it. When I called one of the other dealerships in the area, the sales manager told me he did not believe the offer I had and if it turned out to be a real deal when I arrived to call him and he would come down to buy one too. Lol.
It was a real deal, I got it and the TL is in the garage.
MUCH thanks to Corey for all his info.
The dealership I worked with basically said that since I already knew the actual costs for the car, dealer cash, etc AND since they wanted to get another car off their hands prior to the end of the year, they would not bother trying to make any real profit on the car. I let them have about $150 in profit on the dealer adds (wheel locks, door edge guards, tint), but hey, they gotta keep the doors open so I can re-lease from them in 3 years.
Including tax, just under $350/month with zero cap cost reduction.

Thank, it doesn't quite have the performance or sexiness of the 335i coupe it's replacing, but at less than half the cost (and being a garage queen!) it makes much more sense!
