Tint in Northern VA
Anyone have any recommendations on tinting shops in the Northern VA area?
I have a 10' 6MT WDP TL.
What kind of film should I get?
Estimated cost?
thanks

I have had my 2007 VW GTi and 2006 Acura RL done by Sath Sarath at LA Tint in Alexandria. 8164 Richmond Hwy 703-360-2804.
He was recommended by Acura service advisor. Sarath is a real car enthusiast and does top-notch work. I highly recommend him. He also did my 3M Clear Bra on the Volks and the RL.

(PS....How do you like the 6 speed????? I had a 2003 CL-S with 6 speed....put 183k miles over 4 years on that car.......I really miss the 6 speed.......I am afraid if I drive the 2010 TL 6 I might be too tempted!!!)

Ziebart in Fairfax does a good job. They did my 2000 Chrysler 300 M for around $200. Very proffessional and they actually walk out to your car with you with a piece of plexi that has a bunch of different shades of tint with their correct percentages to see which you'd want to go with. I underlined correct percentages because most places will tell you their tint is 35% but when the cop measures it out it ends up being a lot darker percentage wise.

i came out of a 2007 TL-S with 6speed. I was not very interested in the 4g TL until I heard that the 6MT was coming out for it. One test drive of that car and its all over. Just imagine the 6speed mated to the AWD and you have one sick machine. Pickup is amazing clutch is as smooth as butter. The 5AT would not even be considered by me.
Thanks

ok, you answered my question as I suspected.......I will stay away from a test drive in the 6 speed until next spring when my RL hits the 100k mile mark.
I did drive the 5AT SH-AWD TL and was impressed and could only imagine how much more engaging the 6-speed could be.
Enjoy your TL 6!

My daughter kidnapped by TL-S and had the windows tinted as a father's day gift when I was out of town last June. She said it was done at "Prostripes by Dan" in Winchester. The tint job is perfect and I couldn't be happier. I don't know the cost since it was a gift, but I know she researched it a bit to find a place that was inexpensive (the big advantage of going over the hills to Winchester!) and did really good work when she got her Accord tinted.
It's pretty awesome to have a daughter who does things like this for Father's day!!

I'm not in VA but I'd recommend going with a ceramic film. I had Madico Advanced Ceramic 30 on my previous vehicle and have Huper Optik 40 on my 4G. Both are great films and do wonders for heat rejection without being too dark.

I got my tint at L.A. tint in Woodbridge,VA back in 2003, still looks perfect. depends on the film you choose, I remember it was between $200-400. I have 35% all around.

I can't help much on places because I got mine tinted in TX before moving back to the DMV area. As for price, expect to pay about $200 for high quality tints from a decent shop. People who try to skimp, end up with bubbling tints that turn purple in 2-3 years.

New to this thread and read post by gulu100 for LA Tint in Sterling, VA. Asking if anyone else can share some feedback for LA Tint/Sterling, VA? Wish to purchase window tinting from them (they're in our neighborhood...) Any, feedback would be most appreciated. Tnx.
