Timing tuning

I have a 2012 3.7L tl that I bought at 228km I’m running a -35 timing from 2200rmp-8600rmp I’m at 275km now haven’t had a single problem and I floor the car all the time and constantly go into sport manual to pop. When I bought the car is consumed massive amounts of oil but a 5w-40 and Lucas oil fixed that but it still burns at high rmp. Just making this post so people won’t be scared to tune their timing cause I’ve seen multiple forums of people saying they are scared to touch the timing

are you running without catalysts? The oil burning (if ran low) ends up eating the cams and also the burning residue causes the cats to plug. Also over time the oil burning will burn a valve, seen it on the MDX J37...

FYI lucas is pretty much making the oil thicker and not providing any extra protection at those higher RPMS....

yea I had to gut my pre cats cause they got plugged up. I check the engine oil like every 2 days so it’s always full

You should probably address the cause of the oil consumption instead of feeding it constantly, unless you like buying expensive oil regularly.

the car isn’t worth the money to fix it got some body damage and the engine is probably not the healthiest. And I spend about 50 dollars for a month and a half
