I just installed the sport pedals I ordered a couple weeks ago and thought I would share some pics. They're not bad, but wondering how long they'll last. For $49, Ill take a chance.

do they grip well? im sure you havent had experience with a wet shoe yet..

vendor supercomputers use to sell sets with acura logo on them for 100 bucks.. but if yours grip well, hell i dont mind purchasing it.

Make sure the screws dont start to rust from wet shoes and all... Get the stainless steel screws, its a much better look and they wont rust.

I won't know until Sunday when it is expected to rain again. I should have taken pictures before I put them on, but the black rubber actually protrudes through the aluminum about 1/4 inch. It doesn't look like Supercomputer's does that. My guess is they will grip, but don't know for sure.

I hope they do. Otherwise, I'll be left with screw holes in my accelerator and dead pedals.

I'll update when I know more.

I just took some close ups and will post later. I also noticed that after one short trip, some of the brake pedal "nubs" have pushed flush to the pedal.

The rubber is a separate piece that goes in the back of the aluminum and the nubs go through the holes. I think I'll remove them tomorrow and glue the rubber to the back of the pedal to alleviate the problem of them pushing flush.

Looks great and a nice upgrade,similar to what i have except mine has "Acura" engraved on them.

I haven't experienced any problems with wet shoes.

I just installed a set yesterday from the same ebay seller. I think they have decent grip and are at least as good as OEM covers, but wouldn't say it's far superior. They look good and functionality doesn't take a step back so I think they are worth $50.

I ended up placing some old rubber pieces on the brake pedal to prevent the "nubs" from sinking back. As a note to other members that are interested in installing these, I used some titanium coated drill bits to enlarge the existing holes on the brake pedal in order to use the provided screws. The instructions on the ebay sellers page don't provide drill bit size so I had to do a little trial and error but just start with a small bit and work your way up.

I think I have these same peddles and have been in my cars since 2009. No rust at all. I dont drive my TL in snow or if there is salt on the ground, so Im not sure if that is a factor.

Good idea on the added rubber. I'll do the same tomorrow.

On the drill bits, just use one ever so slightly larger than the hole, and you'll be fine.

Do you have to remove the rubber that is on the stock pedals before drilling or did you just install these over the stock rubber portion?

Jw, cuz I ordered a set and your install looks very clean, hopefully I can pull it off the same way.

The only pedal that has rubber on it is the brake pedal. You do have to remove that.

If you notice the two middle "nubs" in the 2nd row are flush with the aluminum. I may take the brake pedal back off and insert another piece of thinner rubber in behind it, so those protrude more, but the original rubber pad probably is too think.

^ thanks for the response. so im guessing no real drilling required for the brake pedal, but the accelerator may be the tricky one due to the drilling. Also for the dead pedal, im guessing there is no need to remove the plastic dead pedal, or did you pop that off before u installed the dead pedal?

i apologize about so many questions, just want to have a clean install

You do have to make the holes in the brake pedal slightly larger by drilling. Only slightly.

You just screw the new pedals directly onto the existing accelerator and dead pedals using self-tapping screws. I drilled VERY small pilot holes to get things started though.

I had the ones from supercomputers on my 04 TL MT, loved it and added a great look. They held up through years of snow and ice and I had them on for 90k miles with very little noticeable wear.

I wish Acura would just make some. My wife's Civic Si came with metal pedals and I really like them. I've already worn through a clutch pad in my TL.

The listing shows rounded rubber circles that sit flush with the pedals, however, the seller has a new version much like yours where the rubber pieces sit out from the pedal. They emailed me the following 3 pictures to show what they will look like:







Acura is carved/engraved into the pedal vs being printed which is nice. Can't go wrong for $45 out the door...

Very interesting. The link shows them displayed with part of the Acura logo grayed out and the engraving, when zoomed in, looks less than professional.

Looks like someone bought a product similar to mine and then engraved and painted them themselves.

Yours look cool installed. Not sure I'm a fan of the logo or not, yet.

One thing that I think all should be concerned about is that the picture of what Vidol received doesn't match the large image on the eBay site where he bought them, which in turn does not match the called out smaller image on the same site.

There are three different kinds of pedals in play here. One in the large image on ebay, one in the call out of the same image and those that Vidol actually received.

I just ordered a pair from eBay; for $29, I don't think you can go wrong with them. They are scheduled to be delivered between 8/5 & 8/12.

I would be interested as well. The rubber covering on my clutch pedal has worn through; I can see the silver metal underneath. Probably from all the stop-and-go traffic I have to deal with.
