Splash Guard Installation Question

Went to put my new splash guards on this weekend. On the very first one, I could not get one of the self-tapping screws to back out of the inner fender. Tried everything I could but it just spins and spins. I had the exact same problem with my '01 TL. Is this something Acura does to dissuade the DIY from Do it yourselfing? I gave up after the first one. Anybody have any suggestions for getting those stubborn SOB's out?

I know it's tight it there, but can you fit a skinny flathead and lift up under the screw head while turning? I just did mine and while it took longer than I thought, everything went pretty smooth. I used a socket wrench with a phillips bit.

I took the wheel off so I had good access. I tried a small screwdriver under the head but you can't pry real well against the plastic inner fender. I think I'll try a putty knife and see if I can apply enough pressure on it.

I had no problems with mine coming out. You may want to try the putty knife or if you can get access behind the liner and push the screw out as your screwing it out from the front. I wouldn't worry about hurting anything either.

Hey guys, I just bought the splash guards / mud flaps and it says I need wax in the instructions. Is this necessary? If so, what type? I would hate to bring it to the stealership to install some mud flaps.. Thanks

I believe it's just to wax the area that the splash guards are going to cover
