Silver 4G's....Rare ?
I am shopping 4G's. Considering either Silver or black 2012 or later. As I look thru the boards here, it seems most of you own the black 4G's. Anyone own silver ? Is it the same type of silver on the 3G Type S or a little lighter? I rarely if ever see these cars in silver in person, I usually see either white or black. Never silver.

I love black cars, have had 4 of them but as the others have said they are a PITA to take care of. Especially if you're anal about your cars, you will see every little mark, swirl etc..
I barely ever see 4G Silver TL's

Are the swirl marks a real problem for the black TL's ? Or is that for all black cars in general. Isn't it possible for a manufacturer to have better paint that would eliminate a lot of the swirls ?

sure, acura paint is soft....but you have to master washing the car without putting swirls or defects in it.
if you dont master washing the car, your car will ALWAYS have swirl marks...
use the two bucket method with grit guards.
one is a rinse bucket, the other has soap in it.
the grit guards also help keep debris at the bottom of your buckets.
your wash media has to be 100% debris free.
even a small tag will put swirls and scratches in your car.
THis goes for ANY car.
perfect your washing techniques and you wont see swirls.
This means NO AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES, or even HAND WASHED places....
as they are all about quantity and not QUALITY

you better believe your car has swirls in it.
you just cant see them that well.
all cars and all colors will get defects in them from improper washing techniques.

I love black! Looks the best when cleaned, waxed and polished. Worth the work to me. I haven't seen too many silvers around but they're out there. I actually have grown to like the Silver 4G. Especially with the factory lip kit.

IMO, get whatever color makes your happy!
In all honesty, the Basque Red and The Fathom Blue/Obsidan Blue are probably the rarest of the colors. I'd put Grey and Black as the most popular followed by silver then white.

I bought silver.... it was between silver and black for me, but I live in Canada and we get lots of snow in my area. I always used to admire my neighbour's silver Accord as it always looked clean, even though I would go over and it wasn't exactly spotless it still looked clean. I like my car looking good so I went with the silver, instead of black. I also like the contrast between the silver paint and my dark tinted windows, so that's why I picked silver. Good luck on your decision.

I would have preferred a Graphite or White but could not find one when I was looking.
Silver looks too generic but at least its not as fugly as that baby blue metallic one.

I see of few silver versions, but they all seem to have black interiors. I wanted the tan interior, so I ended up going with white pearl exterior.
For some reason, when I was ready to buy, the tan interior was rare.

Mine is a 2010 Silver. When buying it new, I went with Silver since it was one of the two/three colors that came with a manual transmission and the silver helped the "beak" to blend in better.
