SH-AWD vs FWD

I just brought my 2012 TL FWD tech package in for service and they gave me a 2014 TL SH-AWD for a loner and i thought my FWD felt quicker and had more punch than its AWD counter part. Is my Butt Dyno off or is this the general consensus

doesn't the AWD have the 3.7 and the FWD the 3.2 ? I'm not sure which is faster if that's the case as the AWD is obviously heavier. I just know the manual is faster than all

you felt the heft of the AWD system.

a lighter car will feel quicker on its feet.

the SHAWD system is designed for corners.
this is where the shawd will out perform your car.

It was definitely more fun to drive than my car in a snowy parking lot, it will drift a little bit when cornering but it still feels like it is more front wheel bias than rear

The fwd is a bit quicker in a quarter mile race but take them both to a road course and the SHAWD should be out front.

the auto sh-awd also will only start in 2nd gear when a lot of throttle is used. This is why if you actually want the car for more performance oriented properties, the manual is the way to go.

huge snowfall in southern Ontario last night. Disabled the traction control and went absolutely nuts in an empty parking lot. Itching to get out there again asap.

When I was doing a test drive on FWD, when I gunned it, there was a bit of chirping of the front wheels like it was looking for traction. The SH didn't have any issues. Both cars were used with about the same mileage.

Hard to do a REAL car comp. Without a scientifically equal set-up, same age(mileage), gas, tires, multiple runs, etc. you'll never know the real numbers.

Additionally, you must never trust the manufactures own numbers. They are simply a sales tool.

If yours is the 5 speed auto it will. However the 6spd auto will start in 2nd from a full throttle stop. Research it. It's common knowledge at this point.

^strangely, you can only get first if you're turning while giving it some throttle
