Saying goodbye for now

After 6 1/2 years and 75K on my TL Tech, I have decided to move on. I loved the car and did all my own work/mods, but I needed/wanted a car with a higher ride height. I checked out all the usual suspects(MDX, RDX, Q5, RX, NX) first, and then went to BMW. I took one look at an X3 in White with Saddle inside and it was over. I ended up with a 2016 BMW X3 Black Sapphire Metallic/Saddle interior and it looks sick inside and out(but especially inside!) I had to add a ton of options to make sure I had everything that was in my TL but I absolutely Love it! Added all weather mats right away and hardwired my radar detector to the rearview mirror today like I had done in my TL. It has been less than a week but I am starting to learn the car. Very different from Acura. It has lot's of nice lighting touches and great features.
I will check in once in a while as I love reading this forum and I have two kids who are driving so I may have another Acura someday anyway. Good luck to all and Happy Holidays!

Congratulations, hopefully you got the Msport pkg. Ex X5 E70 here. Fun vehicle before someone pulled out in front of me.

Well, we will see you VERY soon in the BMW forums

My friend at work owns 2 BMW's, another owns an X3, and from their experience, I would immediately get a login on all the BMW versions of this forum, so you can figure out what's (will inevitably) be wrong with your car!LOL Warm up your VISA, and enjoy!

Thanks for the well wishes. I agree there is nothing like Honda/Acura reliability which is why I have always owned them. My 2 brothers and father also own nothing but Honda/Acura. I never even considered a BMW but the other cars I looked at just did not do what the X3 did for me when I saw/drove it. Sometimes you just have to take a chance and go with what gets you excited. I cannot explain how much I love this car already. After almost 3 weeks I can honestly say I may never drive another type of car. It is that good. I usually never lease but I ended up leasing the BMW because of the above worries. I got 3 years of full maintenance included and under full warranty so I should be ok until lease end. Then I will decide what to do from there. If my feelings change then I will come back to Acura, or maybe I buy this off lease, or get the new version which will be out late 16 or early 17. Pics below of X3 as well as of my V1 install. Hardwired to mirror with mirror tap. Nice and clean.

Those interior shots are nice. But please do yourself a favor and don't own the car after it's out of warranty.

^Appreciate the advice. If I did buy it I would get an extended warranty, but in reality I don't think I will be buying it at the end. By that time the new version will be in its second model year and if I still want this type of vehicle, I would get that.

Made the same move

Hey congrats

I just traded my 2010 shawd tl for a 2013 335i
Gotta say after 25 years of honda ownership its definitely a different feel driving a german car.
Performance is out of this world but i have to give an ever so slight edge to Honda in the fit and finish category. Honda is more supple whereas the Germans are a little bit rough around the edges. Not that that is bad its just a different feel than i am used to.
Good luck

^ Thanks. Same to you. I also only drove Acura, Infiniti and Toyota so this is a change but
I love my X3! Definitely a different feel to drive but I am getting used to it. The ergonomics are great and I really like the layout of the controls and all of the interior materials and lighting touches. I also love the LED DRL angel eyes. Can't stop looking at it and driving it any chance I get.
