@1stGenCL...lol
It does look good, but the only problem is my height and suspension are stock. Looks like that suspension may be blown out from the weight of the truck. It took the wrecker quite a bit of torque to pull me car free and uhaul dropped down.

i could feel that I was going under the truck with nothing to do but ride it out, luckily I maneuvered TL with the truck to impact on a moving angle instead of straight on and potentially lose my head literally.... Seat belt had me tight so I'm thankful.
I wonder what the estimate may come back to repair or if it's a total loss?

To the original poster... glad that you're ok. This accident clearly sucks for you and the car, but the silver lining, should you choose to see life this way, is that you are here afterwards to post pictures of the aftermath. Looking at how your car wedged underneath the truck, you were no more than a couple feet away from losing your head, literally!
I would feel very fortunate and blessed, if I were in your shoes.

For me it looks like a total primarily due to the bend in the roof at the top driver's side that displaced the windshield and is now below the door frames. That will be a pain to fix and is probably what will put it over the top.
Glad to see you're OK. You're correct that more of a 90 degree hit to the U-Haul would have likely had you submarine under the side of the truck.

I'm sorta thinking about cars again because I think the structural integrity on the car has been comprimised and would require new framing and it's not a cut and weld job at that pillar area. I don't know if I'll get another 4G or buy a well taken care of 08' 3G cash until i figure my next move and maybe look for something else.

Okay so I talked to the mechanic from my preferred body shop safe to say they are not what they used to be. So I took it over to another body shop and had a great conversation with the owner and he said the first thing he's going to do because of the impact is put it on the frame measuring machine to make sure that none of that is compromised if any of it is even off by millimeter they recommend that the car be totaled out due to safety. I don't know why every Shop wouldn't do that based on the impact and type of accident the first thing they did today was put it up on a lift and look at the structural soundness. Not to mention i think the cars computer is fried...

^ummmm, that is one of the very first things shops do.
1) tear down car
2) assess damage
3) fix anything damaged
4) put on frame alignment machine
5) put on wheel alignment machine.
dont know what kind of backyard mechanics you were going to...LOL
its like standard operating procedures

Damn, I just saw all your pictures now. Definitely totaled due to the pillar, frame is tweaked for sure and i am sure that motor shifted. If I was in your shoes I would look into getting another 4G because it saved you. Had it been a smaller car it would have been a lot worse. I would be looking into a 12+ AWD in that same color. But I am sure whatever you choose you will like. Good Luck!

Have you heard back whether the car was totaled or not (before the water damage due to being uncovered)? That A-pillar damage is significant, and the picture showing the buckle in the pillar itself is what will total the car. No way you can get that straight and structurally rigid again. I'm not an insurance adjuster, but if I were, it'd be totaled for sure.....

Man... At this point I'm hoping they write it off for you. I'm sure it's repairable, but would you really want to drive a car that's been fixed after such a mess? Sucks...

If they repaired it, i would collect my diminished value check from them (based on estimate from Jackson Acura) and list it for sale the next day, so no I wouldn't have my family in it.
Of course body shop found significant damage during tear apart and are petitioning a supplement which they believe will total it before a frame issue would, plus the shop said it was so much more extensive they didn't even include a new door yet. I'll know more by 5pm today. Engine bay itself is all compromised.

I would tell them that they now need to tear up the interior to makes sure there isn't any mold depending on how much it's rained.
Good luck,

Supplemental repairs came back to raise it to just over $11k. Please keep in mind this doesn't address the interior damage when rain and sun hurt interior and also doesn't include anything within the engine back except for a radiator. No electrical/computer estimates have been performed. Shop thinks they'll total it today....
