RJ Sport Design 4G TL Concept Kit Renders
With the way the economy is going right now, I'm a little hesitant to go gung ho on developing all new products, tooling can be VERY expensive and time consuming. Business is surprising similar to the same period of time as last year so I'm being optimistic about producing a kit like this. Enough about the possibilities of actually producing the urethane lip kit for the 4G TL, it's 50/50 right now until February when the aftermarket season really kicks in.
Details if produced:
- Made from a Poly-urethane mixture that is stronger than before, yet just as flexible.
- 5 piece kit, Front lip, sideskirts, rear spatts (rear is going to be 2 pieces that meet at the license plate).
- 2 tone effect will be achieved by painting 2 colors along a built in seam.
- fog lights will be retained.
- Kit will lower ground clearance by 1.25" all around.
- Cost will be $1200 for the 5 piece lip kit in raw urethane.
The design is still being developed, but this is the general direction i want to go with it.
As for the grille, i have to see the car in person and take it apart to see whats underneath.

To make, makes what i think is poor styling, look a bit better. I still can't get over the back half of the car. Simply looks Huge, like an oversized 2004 - 2005 maxima.

Rondy, thanks for coming up with a new design for that bucked tooth grill.

I like the second rendering because it eliminates the stock grille. However, I'd like it even better if it didn't have that additional elongated piece across the center.

dangggg that looks amazing... if i was ready to buy a 09 TL, then the RJ Kit would be ordered MONTHS ahead of time so by the time i recieve the car, the kit is immediately installed on the car at the dealership before taking her home haha. including the RJ Grille too

Kit kinda reminds me of the 3g aspec lip kit, which isn't a bad thing.
I'd take the first car in a heartbeat. It actually compliments the grille.
SelimUniNoLimit: I really like that new bumper

both are awesome, maybe Acura should hire you, maybe even Ron. Ron design is ok but what you did would make me take the title of my 05 TL to the dealership early Monday morning as long as the back is redone as well. I just hope they redesign the entire car very soon. Nothing that I have seen helps the back.

I like the first picture!! That one would sell!! I think if you come up with a really nice looking grill...you will make a killing on it since that is the most ugliest part of the car.

It seems to me like the rear needs a gray bar of sorts to tie it in with the sides, although I could be wrong. If you make this kit I think I will get myself a 4G.

Three Wheelin'
Ron, I like this kit a lot. I like the lip of the first pic better as it mirrors the design of the front fascia better. My recommendation for the grille (love it) is to have the outer rim body colored (as seen in my quick PS'ed version below...I made the car charcoal grey to visualize the end result)...also, I'm not a big fan of dish wheels on FWD or AWD cars, so I selfishly mounted your Legend wheels (love 'em) on there ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Safety Car
ron,
used to be in this game myself.
the first kit (dual tiered lip) is by far superior.
in terms of the grille, the bordering fill-in panels and seems are wholesome and make perfect sense. however, the center cross beam looks off. maybe deleting this part, and having a outline frame of the grille would be the way to go.
anyway potential buyer looking to replace the grille is looking for a clean and simple solution to get rid of the OEM monstrosity. perhaps, but creating a framed grille with an open center for meshing would be the way to go!

Yeah, before I go crazy designing tho, i got to get my hands on a TL and remove the grille, then see whats behind it and how it's mounted. If I do go ahead and make the grille, I would probably make it in ABS plaxstic for rigidity and constant production quality. I just don't want the customer to have to cut anything.
