Resets with the HDS

Hey all, so to explain my story, I bought my 2010 TL SH-AWD 6MT a few months back. As a part of my new (used) car due diligence, I like to change my fluids (Rear Diff and MTF). The big question is, how can I reset the maintenance minder properly? I understand that when it tells you that these need changed, you can reset it through the MID display. But since that is not how I did this (premature fluid change), I need to reset it another way. I understand that the acura dealerships have a tablet with an OBD2 hookup to reset it easy.

I'm looking for someone who has run into this before. I would like to do it myself. I see some HDS systems for sale online but need some confirmation that these would do what I need it to do. These systems seem to hook into the OBD2 and go through a box then to a laptop (some have USB connectors and bypass the need for a converter box). Has anyone used one of these before? Can someone direct me to the correct model that works for the 4G TL?

If all else fails, I'll take it into my dealer and tell them I had the work done somewhere and see if they will reset it.

An example of something I have been looking at below. It has USB to go to the laptop, I just cannot determine if it will perform the correct tasks.

After a long weekend of research I'm 90% confidant that this will do what I need it to do. It looks like there are many more used for this tool than I previously imagined. See the thread below for some 3G guys using the tool and discussing it's uses.

Only outstanding question is software version. Hardware that comes with version 2.xxx.xxx is much cheaper than hardware that comes with v.3.xxx.xxx and i have not determined if software can be upgraded (free) from 2 to 3 or if the hardware is locked to a software version.
