Unhappy Rearview mirror replacement

I have a 2010 TL and sadly I hit my rearview mirror against a post as I was backing out of my parking spot. The mirror and motor is fine, but the housing is cracked. I took it to the dealership and they quoted me $530 to replace the whole rearview mirror. Does anyone know if I can just replace the housing, and know where I can get it from? Are there any instructions online on how to remove the rearview mirror? Any information you guys can provide would be appreciated!

My 2010 SH-AWD has a small stress crack in the left mirror housing trim. It looks as if a small rock strike at the extreme outer edge started a crack which has opened up to about two inches long (horizontal to the ground).

I showed it to my dealer's service writer and he said he would have to get approval from the area tech rep to replace the trim piece, but if the crack got any longer he would "just go ahead and replace it." He said that the trim piece is replaceable, but you do need to remove the mirror from the car to do so. He did agree when I commented that the part should not have cracked from a minor stone impact.

I think your dealer is trying to rip you off, or the guy is just ignorant. Give your Acura parts drone a call and see what the parts book shows.

Wow $530! You didn't mention what side? I have replaced many a mirror on cars. You will need to pull the door panel. It's not that hard as every car is different. I would assume that cost includes Labor?
These cars are so new that you may have to go with the Dealer or maybe just buy the mirror from them.
I was able to find one on Ebay which is where I usually buy them and you would need to have it color matched.

Holy crap, I read that you hit your rearview mirror against a post as you were backing out and thought that must've been one hell of a collision to slice your car in half! lol!
