Radio unresponsive

The radio in my 2012 TL stops working every now and again. All the radio buttons will be unresponsive. Climate controls still work. The only way to fix this is to pull over, shut off the car, & restart it. Then the radio will turn on again. The buttons and display are lit up, but they don't respond to anything. My phone is even connected to Bluetooth to the car but the buttons do nothing. I have a video of it occurring down below. Also on an unrelated note the compass on the radio flashes every other week for hours. I don't understand why it's calibrating so frequently.

Hi,
I had exactly same issue before. Took it to dealer, replace the unit under warranty.
and It happened intermittently, so show the video and drop off the car. they need to see it in person, video is not counted.

My warranty expired, I'm at 58,000+ miles. I was really hoping not to pay out of pocket from the stealership...

If it is your radio maybe you can find a used one on ebay cheap and replace it yourself. Save some $ that way

I found one on eBay for a project and got one for $100 shipped, so definitely check eBay if it's the radio itself.

If you happen to find one on eBay, make sure they provide you with the vehicle VIN # it came off of so that way you can get the unlock code for the radio. Other members may need to chime in but I think this is where you get the unlock code from. radio pin

If it's powering on sometimes but not other times couldn't it be a bad relay somewhere? Does anyone know where I can find schematics of the unit? I'd rather spend $5 on a relay then $100+ on a radio. I'm quite disappointed that an Acura would have silly problems like this...

Every car maker has problems, your dealing with electronics. Have it diagnosed at the dealer then if its the radio look for one on-line if you dont wont to throw parts at it.

Take your thumb and press hard on the plastic where the "Acura" logo is on the radio. That usually brings mine back to life.
